Reflecting on my recent journey of self-developmet, I've dedicated a significant time, developing my abilities. Last month, I completed a 4 year course of "Transactional Analysis" based on Eric Berne's theory. Usually,I'm open to try different methods as long as they help me through this process. So last week I intended in a workshop with a very different yet complementary approach from what I learned all these years named "Psychodrama". For those unfamiliar, psychodrama therapy involves participants acting and roleplaying in a group setting. By doing this, they look for insights into behaviors and thought processes. As the name implies, there’s a bit of theater as well as sociology involved. The Social Psychology methods can be used to study and improve mental health, education, business and organizational behavior, public policy and social marketing.
After completing my Bachelor's in Sociology and Psychology of Ageing in 2021, I was surprised to learn it didn't automatically qualify me for registration with a governing body. But I didn't give up! Thanks to PACFA's Recognition of Prior Learning framework, I've finally found a new pathway towards clinical membership. If you're in a similar situation, don't lose hope. There are alternative routes to achieving your goals.
