When my previous company (Quri) was acquired by Trax Retail back in 2018, I remember sitting in my bay area apartment with my laptop, reviewing aisle after aisle of our local Safeway in the Trax portal. All of the products on these shelves were automatically tagged (by a trained machine learning platform!), aisles were stitched together, and I was virtually walking the store as if I were a consumer. My wife thought I was nuts, but I could not stop talking about it with her or my friends. Nor could I comprehend how scalable, informative and innovative this technology was. Fast forward 7 years later. Robots are serving cocktails at company events, cars drive themselves, and everyone seems to be an AI expert thanks to ChatGPT, Canva, Adobe, Google, etc. Suddenly, a computer identifying and tagging a SKU on a shelf doesn't seem so innovative, or frankly, so cool. At Trax, we did not rest on our laurels. We rode the same waves every tech company did over the last 5 years, and continued to push ourselves and the entire retail and CPG industry to a new frontier. The result? We now have terabytes of computed retail execution data and most importantly, have gotten great at using it to inform (and execute) actions in stores that need the most help, at the right time, in the most precise way. What started as cutting edge image recognition software has graduated into true mechanism for driving Client ROI. It is amazing to see this vision (and this industry) continue to evolve and we are thrilled to be at the forefront!
