Looking ahead to 2025, we are thrilled about the new highlights already in the pipeline. As we approach the end of 2024, we at TAWNY would like to reflect on some of our significant milestones this year. There were many highlights for us and we can hardly wait to continue working on them, so stay tuned for more to come! 🌲⭐We are very proud of the fact that our TAWNY Technology has gained a foothold in the event and venue sector (see also down below) and is inspiring so many companies in the retail sector. It is also important to mention that we have become an ecosystem partner of Dahua and we were allowed to take part in Sodexo’s global accelerator program in 2024! Not to forget and this has a huge impact in all our developments - the intensive R&D initiatives around privacy-compliant video analytics and visual attention in the space. One of my favorite conferences of the year, #FSTEC, is just around the corner! Tech vendors, you have a unique opportunity ahead. Many are promoting their booth numbers and heading to Dallas, but the real differentiator is how well your team communicates why your pod should be the one people stop at. In the final days before the show, focus on equipping your team to explain clearly why your product stands out. #Differentiation is critical in the increasingly complex restaurant tech landscape. While relationships often help set us apart, if your product is truly great, how will you communicate that in just a few seconds as attendees pass by your booth? How will you make them stop and engage? The tech stack is at a tipping point. The sheer volume of tools is creating #inertia in innovation. If Carlsberg did conferences… 🍻 I don’t think I’ve ever been quite as impressed with speakers or learnt more at a conference. HETT Show gave me and Prempal Birdi so much food for thought. 👌🏻 Key takeaways: 🔑 User-centred design, user-centred design, user-centred design. Which I’ve already been preaching, but maybe Prem will take notice now! ❓Understand your problem. Had this from more than one angle this week thanks to Ryan Kerstein! 🤝 Shared decision-making and early engagement with a broad range of users (particularly potential ‘resisters’) will help with adoption 👩✈️ Pilots are a really good way to ‘fail fast’ and avoid procurement thresholds while gathering an evidence base that can help form a business case ⭐️ Defining your standards and what is ‘good enough’ is an important part of the digital skills journey. As the year comes to an end, it’s the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate. And while we in Germany are famous for our love of a good complaint (The weather! The trains! The penalty kick!), I’d like to focus on the positives instead. Seven things I’m professionally and personally grateful for in 2024: 1️⃣ My team: You’re simply amazing! No matter how stressful things get, Thomas Helmreich and Alexander Kolb steer the eBUS with full dedication, while Anna Trautmann and Janine Schmeichel support me in trend and target group projects – whether in front of the camera or behind it. You tackle every project with enthusiasm and good vibes 2️⃣ My colleagues: Thank you for all the inspiring conversations – in meetings, over coffee, or during lunch in the cafeteria. A strong network is invaluable, and working with you makes every challenge more enjoyable 3️⃣ Our clients: Without you, there would be no exciting projects, no challenges, and no shared success stories. Thank you for your trust and collaboration! 4️⃣ Events and presentations: From the Brand Roadshow and the Swiss Business Reflector to the GfK/NIQ Insight Summit and the 90th anniversary of NIM – full of knowledge-sharing, fresh ideas, and meeting brilliant people 5️⃣ The topics I could deal with once again: Consumer trends, shopper behavior, sustainability, Gen Z, lifestyles – the variety keeps the work endlessly fascinating. There’s always something new to explore, and that’s what keeps me motivated! 6️⃣ Life beyond work: My friends and my family are the ultimate foundation. They keep me grounded and remind me of what really matters – even when the deadlines are looming 7️⃣ The small moments in between: A laugh in the office, running in the park, or just 5 minutes to take a breath – those little moments are what gives me the energy to keep going.
