Avoid the many common mistakes when hiring a VA in the Philippines. I hate pointing out negatives but sometimes it makes sense to alert people so that they can avoid common mistakes. So here is a classic mistake business owners often make when hiring a VA for the first time. They concentrate on hiring for a specific task instead of hiring for a role that encompasses a range of different tasks. One of the most common examples of this is hiring a VA to do a narrow range of admin tasks when a skilled Executive Assistant could cover several, such as routine admin, calendar and email management, and travel bookings. Here’s another example. Hiring a VA only to take care of SEO when an experienced digital marketer could handle that along with content production and scheduling. Need a hand to define the role you might need a VA to perform? DM and let’s talk about the various ways our VA Platinum team could help you. Outsourcing: Delegate tasks. Free up time. Make more money. Create freedom. #brianjones #virtualassistants #outsourcing

“𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀” 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁) As a seasoned marketing professional with many, many, many years of experience, I've encountered my fair share of recruitment practices. Today, I want to share a recent experience highlighting 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥. I was approached by a recruiter for an exciting Director of Marketing position in Dubai. However, the conversation took an unexpected turn when the so-called recruiter's primary concern became my current salary before we even discussed the role or my potential fit. As I told the “recruiter,” this approach is problematic for several reasons: 1. It reduces professionals to a number, ignoring the wealth of experience and unique value we bring. 2. It assumes current compensation directly translates to future roles, disregarding each position's specific demands and potential impact. 3. It overlooks that hiring is an investment, not merely an expense. As someone who has transitioned to freelance CMO work, I'm reminded of why I chose this path. It allows me to focus on delivering value, building strategic partnerships, and driving results – aspects often overlooked in traditional recruitment processes. 𝗧𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀: 𝘒𝘕𝘖𝘞 𝘠𝘖𝘜𝘙 𝘞𝘖𝘙𝘛𝘏. A budget doesn't determine your value but the impact you can make. 𝗧𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝘓𝘌𝘛’𝘚 𝘌𝘓𝘌𝘝𝘈𝘛𝘌 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘝𝘌𝘙𝘚𝘈𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕. Focus on matching skills and potential with organizational needs. That's how we create genuinely successful partnerships. Despite this frustration, I remain committed to my freelance endeavors. As a Freelance Content Strategist and fractional CMO, I provide high-level strategic marketing guidance to businesses that understand the value of expertise—𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲—𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. What are your thoughts on this? How do you navigate recruiters who prioritize numbers over value? Let's discuss how we can improve the recruitment process for everyone involved. . . . #Recruitment #ProfessionalDevelopment #MarketingCareers #FreelanceLife #ValueOverBudget #Leadership . . . The Advantage of Hiring Agencies Over Creating New Departments Companies often find it more advantageous to hire agencies instead of expanding their internal teams with new departments for several strategic reasons. Primarily, it allows businesses to concentrate on their core competencies. By outsourcing specialized tasks to agencies, companies can focus their resources and attention on what they do best, enhancing productivity and efficiency. 1. Cost Efficiency Hiring an agency is often more cost-effective than creating a new department. Establishing a new department entails significant expenses, including salaries, benefits, and resources needed for the team to operate effectively. In contrast, agencies work as independent contractors, which means companies can avoid many of these overhead costs. 2. Access to Specialized Expertise Agencies bring specialized expertise and experience that might be difficult or expensive to develop in-house. They work with multiple clients and stay updated on industry best practices, trends, and tools. This expertise ensures that companies receive high-quality services that are up to date with the latest developments in the field. 3. Scalability and Flexibility Working with agencies offers scalability and flexibility that is hard to match with in-house departments. Companies can scale their use of agencies up or down based on business needs and demands without the challenges of hiring or laying off employees. This flexibility is crucial in adapting to market changes and business growth. 4. Speed to Market Agencies can often execute tasks and projects faster than new in-house teams. Since they are already equipped with the necessary skills and resources, agencies can start on projects immediately, reducing the time to market for new initiatives or campaigns. This speed and efficiency can provide a competitive advantage in fast-moving markets. In conclusion, hiring agencies instead of creating new departments offers businesses a range of strategic advantages, including cost savings, access to specialized expertise, scalability, and speed to market. This approach allows companies to stay lean and focused while leveraging external expertise to drive growth and innovation. #growing #business #agency #web #development

Despite operating in terms of an hourly charge rate, there is always a reluctance in the professional services sector to bring in interim support – cost being one of the major concerns, and the relationship (or lack thereof) with the partners being another. However, when put under the microscope, these fears prove unfounded. Bringing in a temporary marketer into a law firm can offer several benefits: 1. Flexibility: Temporary marketers can be hired for specific projects or periods, offering flexibility in staffing. This allows the law firm to scale their marketing efforts up or down based on current needs, without committing to long-term employment contracts. 2. Specialized Skills: Temporary marketers often come with specialized skills and experience in various areas of marketing such as digital marketing, content creation, social media management, or SEO. They can bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to the firm's marketing campaigns. 3. Cost-Effectiveness: Hiring a temporary marketer can be more cost-effective than hiring a full-time employee, especially for short-term projects or during peak periods of marketing activity. Law firms can save on expenses such as salaries, benefits, and training costs associated with full-time employees. 4. Quick Ramp-Up: Temporary marketers are typically experienced professionals who can quickly integrate into the firm's marketing team and start contributing to projects without extensive training or onboarding. This allows the firm to ramp up marketing efforts swiftly and efficiently. 5. Objective Insights: As external consultants, temporary marketers can provide objective insights and recommendations to the law firm's marketing strategies and campaigns. They can identify areas for improvement, suggest new tactics, and offer unbiased feedback to help the firm achieve its marketing goals whilst steering clear of the politics that might hold a permanent team member back. If you have any project requirements, staff shortages or skills gaps then get in touch to discuss how an interim can bring the capability you require. #legalmarketing #professionalservices #interimjobs
