“We in the developing world cannot perpetually depend on the benevolence of others and thus need to generate our own revenues. It is time this current world economic system and the inequalities that deprive us of the needed revenue to fund our economies and consigns us to this cycle of one economic crisis after another ceased.” A powerful statement by Ghana in solidarity with the Africa Group at the 2nd Session of the Ad Hoc Committee on the #UNTaxConvention. We appear committed to destroying our nation with Partisanship, we appear sworn on prioritising Party interests over nation building. Before we begin our policy analysis, in this video, we emphasize four things any leader who takes over Ghana must prioritise: 1. Whoever wins this election must as a matter of urgency think about unity of the country. 2. Productivity is the measure of the strength of nations, policies must therefore be measured on its likelihood to increase our overall usefulness to the world. 3. Merit based appointment and efficient government must be a key priority. 4. A stable currency and business context is necessary to prevent capital erosion. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia H.E John Dramani Mahama Alan Kyerematen We must learn to respect even our most diverse opinions, agreeing that if indeed Ghana’s interest is what we seek beyond our own, then we must collaborate and put Ghana 🇬🇭 first. May God bless our homeland Ghana🙏🏾.

Today, Nigeria marks another Democracy Day, a day to reflect on our journey as a nation. It's a day to celebrate the progress we've made, acknowledging the challenges we've overcome and reaffirming our commitment to building a stronger democracy. As we celebrate this day, let's remember the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom and the right to choose our leaders. Let's honor their legacy by actively participating in our democracy, holding our elected officials accountable and demanding good governance. Nigeria's democracy is a work in progress, but we've shown resilience and determination in our pursuit of a more perfect union. Let's continue to foster unity in our diversity, embrace dialogue over division and work together towards a future where every Nigerian has the opportunity to thrive. On this Democracy Day, I encourage every Nigerian to be an active citizen, to engage in the political process and to contribute to the growth and development of our nation. Together, we can build a Nigeria that truly reflects the will of its people. Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬 #DemocracyDayNigeria #NigeriaAt24 #ProudlyNigerian United Nations Office: President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria Ministry of Communications and Information AMS CHARTER HOUSE FRANCE UNDP Nigeria

“SPIRIT OF CO-OPERATION BODES WELL FOR A REBOUND IN THE PROPERTY MARKET” South Africans have woken up after a period of pre-election anxiety, stretched to breaking point by on-again-off-again negotiations to form a Government of National Unity (GNU), to a changed political reality. We are still pinching ourselves to be sure the momentous events of the past few weeks are really true. There is a positive shift in South Africa's political landscape towards a Government of National Unity (GNU), emphasizing cooperation and unity across party lines. The new government aims for inclusive economic growth, combating corruption, and evidence-based decision-making. This development boosts confidence in consumers and businesses, potentially attracting investments and improving economic prospects. The property market is expected to benefit from reduced interest rates and a more stable environment, with increased demand and property prices. 📢 New commentary from Fatima Busra A.: 'The FATF Gains Momentum in Breaking Africa's Cycle of Grey Listing'. 🌍 The latest RUSI commentary explores why a risk-based approach to Financial Action Task Force (FATF) evaluations and listings is needed. 🇰🇪 🇳🇦 With Kenya and Namibia added, Sub-Saharan African countries now constitute 12 of 21 grey-listed jurisdictions (nearly 60%). 💬 Being grey listed can have significant economic and reputational repercussions, affecting GDP and international aid. With over half the population unbanked, it may also hinder financial inclusion in the region. 💪 The commitment in the Ministerial Declaration should be translated into action before the next assessment round. Let us know your thoughts below, and read the full commentary here: https://lnkd.in/e8xmfQ8G Xolisile Khanyile | Muazu Umar | Global South Dialogue on Economic Crime #FATF #Africa #FinancialInclusion

Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria! Just like our anthem says - we may come from different tribes, speak various languages, and hold unique traditions, today however, we stand together as one. Our democracy thrives on a tapestry woven with the vibrant threads of our differences. And it is in the strength of these diverse perspectives, the resultant open exchange of ideas and the free to choose the direction of our collective future that we find true unity. So, today, let us honour the struggles and sacrifices of those who have fought and continue to fight for our right to choose, and then recommit ourselves to building a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable democracy for all Nigerians. #OreoluwaFinnih #June12 #DemocracyDay #UnityInDiversity #SustainableCities #StrongInstitutions

Nigeria is not seeing much of the investment because of policy inconstency, corruption or any vices that we may have. The developed world don't care. They love who they choose to love. Nigeria is simply not their ideal African country. A politician from South Africa once suggested its because we are proud. There is something about Kenya that is off. The GDP is not commensurate with its infrastructure. Kenya has so many skyscrapers, good roads and railway facilities. I finally figured why. Historically, the East African region is the beloved of Europe. So much so that Uganda was suggested as the home of the Jews before Palestine came to mind during the days of Zionist activism. Rwanda is soon to sign an immigration pact with the UK that will make the small country a little richer. Kenya is a top destination of the entire Caucasian race. Stop wondering why it is easier for Kenya to access funds to build those infrastructures. They are as corrupt as Nigeria and they have serious tribal issues too. (Go read "Its our time to eat). Nigeria is the only truly Black economy. The others- they have those hotels and fancy business districts because the whites are in town. And they see it as the extention of their own countries. We should give ourselves some patt in the back. And we should know they don't love us like they love the rest of Africa. We must do it on our own.

Today we celebrate our nation's journey towards democracy and the strides we've taken to build a more representative and inclusive society. We honor the struggles of our past, the sacrifices of our heroes, and the resilience of our people. Let's celebrate our progress, no matter how small, and continue to work together towards a brighter future for all Nigerians. A future where every voice is heard, every vote counts, and every citizen has access to equal opportunities. We acknowledge the challenges facing our country, but we remain steadfast in our belief that together, we will surely overcome them and emerge victorious. Our collective determination, resilience, and hope will propel us forward. As we mark this special day, let's recommit to the values of democracy, justice, and equality. Let's embrace our diversity, foster unity, and strive for a Nigeria where everyone can thrive.
