You don't need to be in your early twenties to start a tech business. Atomico's 2024 State of European Tech Report (https://lnkd.in/eS5deHg5) shows that 20% of startup founders have had 5+ years of tech experience before deciding to take the leap, a big increase compared to 10 years ago. Doesn't make me feel any younger though, sadly. The report is free to access and has tons of charts detailing the evolution of European tech over the last decade. H1 2024 Report: Despite the challenges, the Israeli tech ecosystem has shown resilience and growth in the first half of 2024. Our Startup Nation Central latest report, drawing from our business-engagement platform, Finder, shows that growth in mega rounds and cybersecurity overshadowed Israel's risks, keeping the investment landscape vibrant. Total private funding in H1 2024 saw a remarkable 31% increase, totaling $5.1 billion. Global investors participated in rounds accounting for 93% of all funding. The Health Tech sector remains a cornerstone of Israel’s tech ecosystem, Private funding in Health Tech reached $455 million in H1 2024 (down from $712 million in H2 2023, reflecting broader cautious investment trends) and maintaining strong global investor interest despite fluctuating investment volumes. The leading Health Tech investor is OurCrowd, with 9 investments. While total ecosystem M&A exits surged to $4.1 billion (marking a 70% increase from H2 2023), the health tech sector has presence with 2 companies out of the top 10 M&A in H1.
