The dust has finally settled on a successful Network X for the Broadband Forum! It was inspiring to deep dive into the key topics that continue to shape and challenge our industry, with the most prevalent being the importance of AI in today’s networks and how sustainability and security are now viewed as “non negotiables” for operators as they promise to impact all parts of the broadband ecosystem.   It was also a pleasure to share a stage with Jaimie Lenderman from Omdia, Dion Ljubanovic from nbn® Australia and Mohamed Amine Benziane from Algérie Telecom in a panel discussion on How to Decide Your Next-Gen PON Upgrade Strategy. We uncovered the use cases for “Multi-Service” or “Anywhere” broadband that will be key drivers when considering and planning for the adoption of future broadband technologies. Business and Enterprise, Smart Cities, and to a lesser extent, mobile fronthaul will all be key to the business case for 50Gig, 100Gig and Coherent PON.   There is considerable work to be done from standards development organizations, operators, regulators and vendors to develop an increasingly wholesale or open access approach to fibre broadband. This is especially true when it comes to service differentiation, reportability, and end to end QoE.   Finally, I want to extend a massive thank you to the 14 vendors and operators who came together to drive the BBF Innovation demos. We continue to expand the number of use cases, drive adoption and proof of concept of standards, and promote multi-vendor driven approaches for “Services-Led” broadband. The BBF Pavilion was constantly packed with operators witnessing what is possible.

🌧️ Despite the torrential rain in Paris, nothing could dampen our excitement at this year’s Network X exhibition! 💡 The M2M Enterprise team had a fantastic time connecting with all our key partners, Heights Telecom, Axiros, and AddOn Networks - who brought their A-game with brilliant stands and engaging showcases. Our attendance was a fantastic opportunity to expand our networking opportunities and discover the latest in tech. We explored cutting-edge trends in Redefining Networks for Telco Transformation and discussed the pivotal question: How will investment in WiFi 7 drive network performance and ARPU for fixed-line operators? 📶 The future of the fibre industry was also a hot topic, with Omdia predicting that fibre will account for a staggering 77%of the world’s 1.8 billion fixed broadband subscriptions by 2028! 🚀 Looking forward to more collaboration and innovation in this rapidly evolving space.
