We operate using world-leading processes, which include the utilisation of state-of-the-art machinery (our Blubox and MSS Optical Sorter machinery), allowing us to process e-waste at unmatched levels in New Zealand. Our first step in the recovery process is to identify all items which can be refurbished, repaired and given a second life. If items are deemed end-of-life, they are processed, and all material is exported under EPA permits to downstream suppliers for further processing. https://lnkd.in/gDiCTkQr Announcement Type: Grants Notice Opportunity: CONSUMER RECYCLING EDUCATION AND OUTREACH (REO) GRANT PROGRAM Overview and Eligible Uses: Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other environmental impacts from goods arise from the energy, land, and water used in their production, transportation, consumption, and disposal. About 55 percent of global GHG emissions come from extracting and processing materials, fuels, and food. Reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting are strategies to mitigate the environmental impact of goods. Education and outreach can increase participation in composting programs and reduce contamination in the compost stream while significantly raising the amount of residential solid waste recycled. They can also expand markets for compost use, contributing to a more circular economy. This funding opportunity under the Recycling Education and Outreach grant program seeks to support projects that will achieve the following objectives and reduce GHGs: Decrease household food waste (Project #1) Expand markets for and boost sales of compost (Project #2); and Inform the public about residential food waste composting programs; provide details on accepted materials for such programs; and increase collection rates while reducing physical contamination in residential food waste composting programs (Project #3)
