It's a mantra within the industry that "structure is sacrosanct," and nowhere is this more evident than in the meticulous steps we take to define the problems we aim to solve. The Problem-Definition Process consists of three pivotal steps: 1. Establish the Need for a Solution: It’s not just about solving a problem; it’s about knowing why the solution is needed in the first place. We pinpoint the desired outcomes, align secondary goals, and identify the stakeholders who will benefit. This foundational step ensures we’re on the right path from the start. 2. Contextualize the Problem: Before diving into solutions, we map the problem’s landscape—evaluating internal and external constraints, reviewing previous attempts, and extracting valuable lessons. This gives us a comprehensive understanding of the problem within its unique ecosystem. 3. Define the Problem Statement: Here, precision is key.
