This is one of my favourite quotes from an Australian teacher who took part in the research evaluation of Visible Wellbeing. It perfectly encapsulates a key aim of the Visible Wellbeing approach: to shift wellbeing from an internal, subjective experience occurring within the student to a tangible, observable phenomenon that is visible for students and teachers to see, hear and feel, and therefore harness and build upon. Learn more about how to make wellbeing visible by reading my book chapter in The Palgrave Handbook of Positive Education, entitled 'Positive education pedagogy: Shifting teacher mindsets, practice, and language to make wellbeing visible in classrooms'. You can access this chapter on my website, link in bio! #positiveeducation #leawaters #wellbeing

Reflecting on a quote from a recent article that resonated with me: "Investing in the health and happiness of educators lays the foundation for a positive ripple effect on students, schools, and the broader education system." By providing opportunities for teacher voice, fostering positive relationships, and offering continuous professional development, schools can tangibly support their educators. As an education recruitment owner, I see it as my mission to champion these practices. It's not merely about filling vacancies but ensuring those roles are occupied by fulfilled, supported professionals capable of cultivating positive learning environments for students. As education leaders and recruitment professionals, making sure educators feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive in their communities should be our top priority. Being a teacher is my absolute dream job! I love the energy of the classroom and delight in watching young people grow and develop in their unique gifts. Programs where teachers have professional autonomy while working within wider organisational goals are vital to their workplace engagement and create schools where everyone can thrive. If you’re a teacher looking for a new job, Georges River Grammar is an exciting workplace. If you’re not a teacher and looking for a career change, what an exciting and important industry education is! #teachergoals #teaching #professinaldevelopment #goalsetting

Check out Advance HE's "Wellbeing in the Curriculum: a new compendium of case studies", edited by Elliott Spaeth and compiled by Joanne Berry, Fiona Cook, Professor Harriet Dunbar-Morris PFHEA, NTF and Fran Garrad-Cole. "the curriculum - ie how we facilitate student learning - is an area where we can have huge impacts on student wellbeing, in ways that we might not even realise. Through the curriculum, we show students whether we have taken people like them into account when we have designed our modules, and whether we are open to learning about what this means for our students. In short, we show students whether they matter, and whether they can trust us to believe them when they share their experiences. Whether they truly belong, or whether they should suppress their concerns rather than risk upsetting us by raising these concerns." https://lnkd.in/e9nEubTX #InclusiveEducation #HigherEducation #TertiaryEducation
