North / south divide in music? Our new research about children and young people's music found those in the north feel less musical, and less supported in their music. Since our 2019 research, girls and young women in the north have seen the biggest drop in feeling musical. In the north east, 0-25 year olds are nearly a fifth less likely to be playing an instrument than those in London. And this despite so called 'levelling up' and more Arts Council investment in recent years. Ironically, so much innovation happening in the north too - with music cities, the Northern Music Network, Brit School and EMI North investment. As someone who was born and raised in the north east these findings make me 😥 - but I do see some rays of light ahead. What are your thoughts? #SONG24

To achieve the effect that what is being played, is not on any instrument at all, but more the voice of Music itself speaking to us as if directly from the source, and in such a way that what we hear, was already known to us before we heard it. To realize the voice of Music through the art that is "music". Melody being the liquid state of words, defines sound as the sonic state of the soul. To write music that would seem to play itself. To play music that would seem to have been written by itself. When the idea of the thing and the thing itself happen simultaneously.
