Here’s why you are praised for going above & beyond, but the title next to your name isn't changing... If it were true that you just needed to network more, then the leaders in your existing network would already see you as a leader... But they don't... I know this because I fell into the trap of thinking that I needed to do more, know more people, show up more... But it did nothing for my promotion prospects...
