Maintaining grid stability while incorporating large-scale rooftop solar is an ongoing challenge in Sri Lanka. Developed countries have addressed this issue with advanced technology and systems. However, the focus of the current study on "Relaxing Voltage Regulations" raises some questions. Specifically, it is unclear if adjusting internationally accepted grid voltage standards is feasible or beneficial, as most inverter manufacturers design their equipment to meet global grid voltage norms. Given that inverters are calibrated to these standards, altering the grid voltage locally could impact the functionality and compatibility of these devices, potentially resulting in increased costs for customizations or system adjustments. Understanding the financial and technical implications of such a study is essential. Would this lead to a viable solution for grid stability, or could alternative approaches, like advanced inverter technologies, voltage control systems, or distributed energy management, offer more effective results? Clarification on these points would be greatly appreciated, and if possible, a meeting could be arranged to discuss the technical objectives and potential outcomes of this study in detail.
We’re Hiring! Ready to shape the future of renewable energy integration? Join us for an exciting opportunity to lead a Feasibility Study on Relaxing Voltage Regulations for Increased Rooftop Solar Integration in Distribution Networks. Be a key player in transforming distribution networks to support cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions. Where is the job growth in the next ten years? Renewable energy production will drive much of American job growth over the next decade: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), wind turbine service technicians, solar photovoltaic installers, and nurse practitioner roles are expected to have the highest rate of growth by 2033. Wind energy is a growing component of US renewable energy production, and wind turbine service technician jobs are projected to grow the most of any occupation, 60% by 2033. Turbine techs earned a median salary of nearly $62,000 in 2023. The second fastest-growing job is solar photovoltaic installer, the people who assemble and maintain solar panels. Solar energy is another growing part of renewable energy production. Installers make a median salary of nearly $49,000. The highest-paying job in the top 20 is computer and information research scientist people who research innovative uses for new and existing computing technologies. In 2023, their median income was $145,000. Nurse practitioner, the third-fastest-growing occupation, is one of eight healthcare roles among the top 20 fastest-growing professions. The median income for this role in 2023 was just over $126,000. The home health and personal care aides profession is expected to have the most new jobs, with 820,500 new positions projected by 2033 — more than double that of any other occupation. In 2023, these roles earned an average median salary of $33,530. Second is software developer, with an increase of 303,700 jobs. Their median income is the second highest, at $132,270. The highest-paying occupation projected to add new jobs by 2033 is computer and information systems manager, who oversees and coordinates an organization's computer-related activities to bring in just under $170,000.
