🔧 Tech Tip Tuesday 🔧 Is your computer running slower than usual? Here’s a quick tip to speed things up: Clear your temporary files and cache regularly! Over time, temporary files build up and can clog your system, making it sluggish. Here’s how to clean them up: 1. Windows: Press Windows + R Type %temp% and hit Enter Delete all the files in the folder (don’t worry, these are safe to remove!). 2. Mac: Open Finder Press Command + Shift + G Type ~/Library/Caches Clear out the folders inside. Doing this once a month can help keep your computer running smoothly! I discovered these shortcuts when I noticed one of my friends managing Windows without touching the mouse at all. Windows + D: Show/Hide the desktop Windows + L: Lock your PC Windows + E: Open File Explorer Windows + I: Open Settings Windows + P: Project screen to another monitor Windows + S: Open search Windows + U: Open Accessibility Settling Windows + M: Minimize all windows Windows + Shift + M: Restore minimized windows Windows + Shift + S: Take a screenshot of part of the screen Alt + D: Select the address bar Ctrl + N: Open a new window Ctrl + W: Close the current window Ctrl + F: Search within File Explorer Alt + P: Show or hide the preview panel Ctrl + Shift + N: Create a new folder Alt + Left Arrow: Go back Alt + Right Arrow: Go forward Above list is not exhaustive. Split your screen in Windows is a game changer. Windows + an ⬅or ➡ key on a PC keyboard. The computer will ask you what you want to fill in the other half. Holding down the Windows Key and successively pressing whichever arrow key you started changes the position of the window and then makes it full screen. Most of you probably use this to maximise the space on your 🖥.
