CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODELS Circular industrial models have three main drivers, namely scarcity of resources, lack of landfill space and the desire for sustainability. Linear models result in leakage of material, mostly via landfilling processes or inaccessibility of the material and hence this model relies heavily on virgin materials as inputs into production. Circular models, on the other hand, aim to close these material loops, hence the term #circularity.  However, closing the loop is only one of the strategies employed in mature #circular #economies and therefore, circularity is often discussed in conjunction with other environmentally sustainable practices, rather than in isolation. This depiction forms part of an extensive and interesting module where the several enabling #strategies or tactics that support the circular economy are explained. The module also includes guidance which can be applied to business successfully.
