This is 100 percent true! I have had more jobs than years on the planet and almost all of them provided adequate training to set me up to be an engaged and highly productive employee.I was hired for having a BA degree in my government and nonprofit jobs as an eligibility factor/prerequisite, but even then I did not have the knowledge of how to do the tasks assigned to me. That was learned through training or learn as you go, ask questions if you get hung up in organizations that did not invest in training. What is interesting to me is how there are companies that still operate on minimal training provided and they scrath their heads and wonder why they have such a high turnover rate. Todays #resumetip…#TITLES! Its best practice to use industry common titles and not the title your company thought was super trendy and cool (kind of like the idea of nap pods). Don’t use “superhero coder”. Try “software engineer”. Don’t say “Inclusion Activist” say “Human Resources Manager” (or whatever you truly were!). Then, in the position summary it’s okay to describe it a bit more. Make it #SIMPLE for recruiters and Hiring Managers to find you!

According to this Inc. article, here are some things companies are doing to drive their last great employees away: • drastic or continuous layoffs, which we know can contribute to excessive workloads and burnout • walking back on employee-related benefits or resources post-layoffs. • poorly executed return to office mandate or policies • shifting or lack of focus on product or technology roadmap • AI washing While some companies are making strides in addressing employee-related challenges, much work is still ahead. As the saying goes, never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.
