I am starting Friday with a cheeky Latte, in the amazing at The Feel Good Larder in Barnstaple, where the coffee even comes with a little love heart on the top! Talking of love we've been nominated for Best Supporting Act at the West Country Women Awards and we're really pleased. What's lovely is that someone had to take the time out of their busy day to nominate us. As part of the submission we were asked why we thought we'd been nominated and after the initial cringe, I took some time to reflect and here's a snippet of what I decided made us a good supporting act. 😍 We're passionate both in empowering HR teams to deliver their HR Projects successfully and also in helping people create a career they love and land an interview with a great CV. 😀 I posted the other week as a Project Managers we are the Robin to our clients Batman, it wouldn't work if we took centre stage. We're there to help you deliver what your business needs, solve project problems and get you on track to successfully deliver your project. 🤩 When working with clients on their CVs or Careers, we get to be their Cheerleader, helping them celebrate their achievements and unique skills. 🤗 We help people reduce the stress in challenging situations so whether they are a HR Director or their team dealing with a restructure, or an individual stuck in a job they no longer enjoy we help you move forward. 🕵♀️ We love to solve problems, whether that's a project not going to plan, an over whelming workload or a process that needs an overhaul. 😌 We have a calm approach and are often get given feedback about how valuable this is when change feels so chaotic. We don't often take time to reflect, we get caught up in the day to day, but by taking a few moments to consider what are our achievements this week always makes me realise how much we learnt or achieved! #WomenAwards24 #weeklyreflection #BestSupportingAct

Why, why, why over represent in such a ridiculously way? I’m convinced it doesn’t have the desired effect, when it’s so contrived… And, personally, I find it quite irritating! In this “advert”* I counted 18 female pilots (and first officers), in different scenes, and just one token male! But according to their gender pay gap report just 6.4% of BA’s pilots are women which, kudos to them, is significantly above average. As a business BA seem to be committed to diversity, but where were other minority groups? With 19 people in different scenes, they had the opportunity to show a bit more diversity than just white women. Apart from that 🤣 it was actually really informative and is a brilliant opportunity to enter a career which is normally prohibitively expensive for “normal people” and is even open to oldies like me (up to the age off 55). If I were 30 years younger, I would have applied in a heartbeat. Does this kind of thing annoy other people, or is it just me? * It’s also not disclosed as a paid partnership, which it certainly appears to be! #recruitment #diversity

And on this day of me trying to post more on Linkedin to have more content then just hot jobs of the week. . . 👀 I wanted to talk about the importance of personality in applications and interviews, and the hospitality industry. 😎 Working in Talent Acquisition I've spoken to candidates at all times of the day, in all kinds of moods and settings. And i get it, sometimes it is not the best time to speak about a new job, or interviews can be absolutely terrifying even when not face to face. 😱 But, in an industry where caring for a guest is at the heart of what we do, never forget how important it is to bring your personality AS WELL as your skills to the table. 💘 Because, most employers can teach you any gaps that you may have in your skills, or you may have the ability to do the job perfectly already. But. You're joining a team, you're looking after hundreds of guests a day, you're going to have good days, you're going to have bad days. Through all of these, you are as much a person as you are just a set of skills, and that person is who we want to see as an employer. 💪🤩 So, don't be shy in telling any prospective employer about who you are, what you enjoy doing. As your personality is just as important as your skills and experience, so be confident, be proud, #BeYourself #BeLeonardo 💖💖 (Yes this was a plug the whole time, check out our careers page 😉👇) https://lnkd.in/eEh99UPx

Do you like something in everyone? "There's something likable in everyone," my mentor, Bano Kudsia, a renowned author of fiction in Urdu once told me during our meeting. To my great surprise, I found that she was right. It's impossible to get to know people deeply and not come to like them. We should take the world's enemies, get them in a room to share their histories and formative experiences, their fears and their struggles, and global adversaries would suddenly get along. I have found something likable in literally everyone I've met as an HR professional. #like #accept #people #hr #professionals

Creating an inclusive workplace requires more than just thought—it requires full commitment and genuineness. Working alongside colleagues with special ability needs is not only an opportunity to enrich our team, but also a reminder of the value of responsiveness. In line with this belief, Taj Palace is taking another step forward by introducing Indian Sign Language (ISL) training for our colleagues. This initiative helps nurture an environment that ensures all team members feel heard, valued, and empowered. Special thanks to Noida Deaf Society who have partnered with us in the journey of fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace.Together, we’re building a community where every individual can thrive. 🎉 Funlab's Creative & Inclusive Interview Techniques! 🎉 We’re thrilled to share how Funlab Pty Ltd has embraced creativity and inclusivity in their recruitment process, especially for HDNWA candidates! 🌟 In a fantastic example of how to make interviews both engaging and insightful, Funlab invited a group of candidates to one of their vibrant venues. While they conducted one-on-one interviews, the remaining candidates stayed together to enjoy fun activities like making animal balloons and playing charades. 🎈🎭 This approach wasn’t just about having fun—it also allowed Funlab to observe how candidates interacted with one another in a team environment, a valuable skill for any workplace. What’s even more impressive is that these adjustments were made specifically for our HDNWA candidates, taking on recommendations from our HDNWA Toolkit to create a more inclusive and comfortable interview process. By making the interview informal and fun, Funlab not only helped ease nerves but also allowed them to assess key qualities like communication, teamwork, and creativity in a relaxed setting. This is a wonderful example of how recruitment can be both effective and inclusive! Kudos to Funlab for going above and beyond in adapting their process to be more accessible and welcoming for all candidates. We’re proud to see them leading the way in inclusive hiring practices! Emphasizing Adaptability in a Job Interview STAR Method: Use the Situation, Task, Action, Result (STAR) method to structure your answers. Describe a specific situation where you had to adapt, the task you needed to accomplish, the actions you took, and the results you achieved. Example Questions: “Can you describe a time when you had to adapt to a significant change at work?” Answer: “In my previous role, our team had to switch to a new project management tool. I took the initiative to learn the new system quickly and helped train my colleagues, which resulted in a smoother transition and improved project tracking.” “How do you handle unexpected challenges?” Answer: “I stay calm and assess the situation to understand the root cause. For instance, when a key team member unexpectedly left, I redistributed tasks and communicated clearly with the team to ensure we met our deadlines.” By showcasing your adaptability skills effectively, you can demonstrate to potential employers that you are capable of thriving in a constantly evolving work environment. #disability #jobs #interviewtip AI disABLEDperson.com
