In the spirit of understanding and empathy, we recently embarked on a powerful initiative at James' Place Eastleigh that highlighted the importance of seeing the world through others' eyes. 🌍 Cicely, a dedicated member of our team, spent a day navigating life from a wheelchair. This eye-opening experience wasn't just about facing physical challenges; it was a profound journey into the everyday realities faced by many of our members. Through this act of empathy, we've gained invaluable insights into making our Eastleigh sanctuary even more accessible and welcoming. As a result, we're making practical changes, like adjusting the height of coat pegs and re-evaluating the placement of crockery, to ensure that every member of our community can enjoy a greater level of independence and ease in their daily activities. But the lessons learned go beyond physical adjustments; they touch the heart of empathy itself. Today, we're bursting with pride for all members who embraced this initiative, demonstrating a remarkable level of understanding and support for one another. Their willingness to step up and experience life from a different perspective shows a commitment to inclusivity that truly makes James' Place a family. This journey has reaffirmed our commitment to empathy, understanding, and actionable change. By trying to walk—or roll—in each other's shoes, we're not just making our spaces more accessible; we're building a community grounded in deep mutual respect and understanding. Let's continue to learn, adapt, and grow together, inspired by the courage and empathy shown by our team and members. Because, at James' Place, we believe that understanding is the first step towards a more inclusive and loving world. 💙 #InTheirShoes #EmpathyInAction #AccessibilityMatters #JamesPlaceJourney

Further thoughts inspired by our post about 'Culture' being incorporated into Blackpool's Town Prospectus: The use of arts, culture & heritage as a tool for placemaking and regeneration is well documented and understood. But all too often, it is an afterthought or a nice to have - a mural celebrating a local hero, a parade or event linked to local heritage. These interventions are lovely and give people a temporary sense of civic pride, but do not embed culture and heritage into place management structures. By incorporating local culture & heritage expertise into place management structures, you are also embedding authentic, creative thinking into place values, brand narrative and decision-making practices from the outset - fundamentally changing how your place is experienced. Not just an afterthought. Image and case study: 'These People Are Our Kindship' by Morag Myerscough on behalf of LeftCoast at The Hub at South Shore, Blackpool. Now more than ever, workers are willing to consider leaving cities and relocating to smaller towns and rural areas. But before they can, those communities—and the employers in them—need to properly brand themselves. People are looking for a change, but they need something compelling to find. Small towns have unique assets that can compete with big cities, but they need to sell themselves effectively. This is where the synergy between employer brands and community brands becomes crucial. When employer brands and community brands work hand in hand, they create a powerful narrative that attracts and retains talent.

🏗️ The Hinckley Point C Project: Shaping Somerset's Future 🏡 Hinckley Point C is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe, bringing a new era of clean energy to the UK. With over £22 billion invested and thousands of jobs created, it’s transforming Somerset on a monumental scale! 🌍 But the impact goes beyond just energy. This project will drive significant capital growth in the local property market over the next decade. As new workers and their families settle in, demand for housing, amenities, and services will soar, potentially boosting property values in the area. 📈 For property investors and homeowners alike, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. The economic ripple effect from Hinckley Point C could make Somerset an exciting hotspot for capital appreciation. 💼🏠 #InvestmentOpportunity #PropertyGrowth #SomersetRealEstate #UKInfrastructure #EnergyInvestment #SomersetGrowth #CapitalAppreciation #BusinessExpansion #RealEstateInvesting #FutureOfSomerset #InvestorAlert #HighROI #PropertyInvestment #HinckleyPointC #GrowthPotential https://lnkd.in/esG4Kb-x

We’ve never been more isolated with the opportunity to be so connected… 💭 Think about that for a minute… Do you agree? I was really pleased to have taken the Bus, admittedly a rare occasion for me, in to the newly opened Stockport Interchange yesterday. For those that haven’t seen this, it’s a brand new development that’s been years in the making as part of the Bee Network by Transport for Greater Manchester, lead by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham and supported by Stockport Council. 🐝🚌👏🏾 As a proud Stopfordian that was born, raised and lives in Stockport this is a fantastic development for the Town Centre but also means there’s even more opportunity to commute in to Manchester or to this Hub and jump on the Train at Stockport Train Station right next door. 🚈 It’s also 4 years last week that the World Health Organisation officially declared a Global Pandemic. 😷 I for one, have no intention of dwelling on that part of my Life and the 2 years we all lost! However, I did stop to reflect just how privileged we are now to be able to meet with our Friends, Family and Colleagues in person… IN REAL LIFE as they say! 🙌🏾 I believe many have forgotten this moment in Time. The Negative Impact on many peoples: 🧠 Mental Health (Anxiety and Loneliness) 🥂 Confidence and Social Skills 🤝 Relationships 💡 Learning and Development 🪜 Career Progression These are just the tip of the iceberg in my view. So a mixed post really but not to take away the positive opportunity this brings and just an idea to reflect on how you can be the best version of yourself and get #BackToTheOffice. 🔥 #NextLevel #StockportInterchange #BeeNetwork #PublicTransport #Bus #Train #Commute #Connectivity #Stockport #GreaterManchester
