Speed vs. Perfection: The Startup Journey from fundkeet to propX_ 🚀 Building an MVP? Here’s a pivotal lesson we learned with fundkeet - Speed is more critical than Design. At fundkeet, our initial focus was on aesthetics and user journey, under the belief that a slick interface was paramount. Despite beta users lauding its design, the transition to paid customers fell short. The reason? We offered a ‘nice to have’, not a ‘must have’ solution. Essentially, we didn’t address a critical problem. Transitioning to propX, our approach has evolved. Speed is our new priority, aiming to test our MVP with beta users within just 4 weeks. We believe a functional, albeit less polished, product that gains traction is far superior to an impeccable product that fails to monetise. The ultimate goal? Achieving market fit by solving a significant pain point so effectively that customers are compelled to pay for our solution. 🔑 Key Insight: When striving for market fit, a functional MVP tested early far outweighs a polished product launched later. Many companies which on the surface appear to achieve instant success, were actually spending YEARS prototyping, iterating, learning what their customers need, and refining. ✨ Publicity is a lagging indicator, sometimes extremely so. Furthermore, start-ups who are waiting to "catch fire" without actually working towards that ignition will probably never get there. 🧨 That's one of many things we love about studios -- tactical impatience and operational excellence for achieving PMF and traction. When we look at newly successful companies, it's natural to think they just got started because our familiarity with them is so fresh. In nearly all cases, though, these businesses have been working toward these public moments for years. One of many reasons I am so bought in on the #VentureStudio model is that studios expedite product-market-fit and de-risk early execution. This compresses timelines and ultimately makes new ventures more investment-worthy, more quickly.

It's generally the case that start-ups tend to grow and succeed by solving problems with solutions that customers are willing to pay for. But simply solving existing problems with existing solutions isn't innovative or what drives long-term technological progress. So start-up success is also about creating new solutions and bringing them to market. This is why the route to product-market fit is winding and bumpy. It's hard for customers to project their needs beyond existing solutions, and it's hard for start-ups to articulate their value prop when the uses cases aren't clearly formed. But both sides eventually get there! It may take a while, with false starts, but persistence and dedication tend to make it happen eventually. #venturebuilding
