HOW A MERCHANT NAVY GUY BATTLES LIFE IN IIM 💯🙌 “Medals and Scars” These words have often served as a guiding light in Life. When I joined IIM-L “HELL”, I was in a state of shock. Now after two months, I feel aligned with the new life and ready to face it head on. 💯🙌 🟢After Engineering, I was exposed to subjects such as Economics, Accounting and Marketing. My world has never been the same since. From struggling to balance sheets to learning Market curves, I feel much aligned to a global mindset! 💁🏻♂️ 🟢After scoring phenomenally low marks in quizzes, I have gotten up and dusted myself off to improve a bit everyday and the transformation is conspicious! ⭐️ 🟢Last but not the least, leadership talks and alumni talks from Industry leaders have taught me that everyone goes through a severe grind. Now it is my time to burn and shine 💯 Life has turned into a daily battleground but with the weapons in my arsenal, I feel- ✅Much better with every passing day. ✅Much obliged to witness this transformation. ✅Much confident to face everything that the Hell throws at me. Week 1 done! But was it a week or a month? I'm not sure. I'm telling you a secret🤫, time works differently in IIMs. 1 day in an IIM = 4 Earth days. What did we do, you ask? Ask, what did we not do! It was so hectic, sleep deprivation is real, it's by design. We had lots of fun and lots of learning. 👉 Daily enlightening leadership talks (so many industry leaders like directors, CFOs, etc.) 👉 Professional photoshoot (yes, it happens) 👉 Sports (we played "tag rugby" and did better than we expected) 👉 Team building exercises (we held sticks and people walked over them; climbed down the wall, etc.) 👉 Business simulation exercise (lots of finance!) 👉 Fun activities (jamming session, treasure hunt, dance, etc.) 👉 And ofcourse, studies and lectures (professors are awesome, they teach from scratch!) #IIM #Week1 #Studies #Fun

We're getting real-world insights straight from the source! 💥Unleashing Our Inner Athlete: We may not be Olympians, but our "outbound" skills surprised even us. 💥Building Bonds (Literally): Team-building exercises forced us to rely on each other. Turns out, we're a pretty supportive bunch! 💥Brain Power On: Business simulations got our brains churning.   One week down, a lifetime to go! Think again! 🔴 Congratulations on taking the bold step, but this disclaimer is crucial for all folks joining their dream B-schools soon❗ It's been just around a month since I joined Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode for the IIMK PGP-Business Leadership Program, and I really wish someone had given me a reality check earlier or at least a heads up! Here are some facts: ✴ Intense Learning Hours: 170 Hours, 7 Days a Week, 7 Subjects, Numerous Projects, Countless Assignments, and Dreaded Quizzes! If that's not enough, remember, you need to study independently too. Crunch the numbers now! ✴Competitive Peer Groups: Don't get me wrong, there is peer learning, but I found it to be a fiercely competitive race for even 1 mark, where your performance is more important than anything else. You either push the pedal and learn or get left behind! ✴Teaching Methodology/Content: It's a mixed bag, TBH, but in the end, you’ll have to spend time & learn yourself too. Professors come up with interesting ideas, case studies, and simulations nudging you towards different perspectives, showcasing why having diverse perspectives is important. Do you enjoy learning from stories? Welcome to B School! I’ve felt that someone coming from an undergrad college or a job would surely feel a massive impact and might take time to adjust to B-School life. It's super important to come with a learning mindset and openness to new experiences. It's 🆗 to contemplate your decisions (every day!) or push yourself to the limit. I believe in everything you do at B-School, it's essential to keep your goals in mind while trusting your instincts.
