"Submit your pitch deck" - uh oh, I didn't have one...🤐 When we applied to the YSpace, York University Tech Accelerator program back in March 2024, they had asked us for a ‘pitch deck’. A pitch deck isn’t something entirely new to my co-founder, Vishal Bollu, and I. We’re definitely not experts either. At the time, we didn’t have one ready. Of course, we had to put something together to apply! 😅 This week, after doing some basic training about pitch decks with Michael Ho, I cannot help but laugh at that first (and current) iteration of it. I immediately went to thank the bosses at YSpace for giving us a chance to be in the accelerator program. And we did it—our first Demo Day for FUTURELAB: Silicon Valley Accelerator in Georgia is now complete! Initially, it was challenging to fully grasp what each startup was working on, but by Demo Day, their visions and potential outcomes became crystal clear, very impressive, and incredibly promising. I was truly impressed by how much our startups had evolved over the course of just three months. We were fortunate to have experts from UC Berkeley, Stanford StartX, Silicon Valley, and around the globe share invaluable knowledge with our founders. The progress we saw is undoubtedly a testament to the dedication and innovation of our inaugural cohort. It’s exciting to note that our startups even garnered interest from participating VCs. What’s more impressive is that several of them are already gaining traction without any advertising. Hearing such news is incredibly rewarding.
