Hello everyone, my name is Joel, CEO of Nano API. I'm here to tell you today a little bit about what Nano API's been working on. Nokia's been building what we call microlithic development. The idea that you take your monolithic API and then at build or deploy time you split it apart into micro services that can be scaled independently. Let me show you how this works. I have here a sample Nodejs Express application with a bunch of separate routers and endpoints. Going to begin by initializing this project using our tool Nappy. Once initialized, I select the entry point and we're going to get. I can now run the UI. And this gives me a high level overview of all of our different endpoints. As you can see, the endpoints are grouped into micro surfaces by color. Here I have one out of place, so I'm going to go and make this part of the Hobbits microservice. I'm going to sync this to my code and I'm going to run a build. Once I've run this build, I can come back here and I can see that I have 3 output files, each one only containing the code needed to run this microservice. This is a powerful way to maintain developer productivity while also gaining the scalability that microservices offer. The ongoing narrative surrounding WebAssembly (#wasmisawesome) prompts a series of inquiries regarding its integration with incumbent technologies such as containers and Kubernetes. Questions arise: Is it merely an additional layer of abstraction? Do containers and Wasm modules share similarities? Is the Wasm ecosystem sufficiently mature for production deployment?
