Be quick to apply, but also strategic about the jobs you choose. 💡 Pro #Strategy1Tip: Apply to uncommon jobs within your niche. Many freelancers search for typical keywords like "SEO expert," "SEO specialist," or "WordPress SEO." Instead, target jobs where clients use less common terms. This strategy often means fewer applicants and a higher chance of standing out. For instance, if a client posts a job looking for an "Index Page issue" or "Rank My website," these are goldmines! These terms might not pop up in common searches, but they’re opportunities waiting to be seized. Pro #Strategy2Tip: Boost your proposal when you think you are on top. How to Spot Fake Job Postings on Upwork 🤔. No doubt Upwork is trying to make platform secure day by day but it still has increased number of fake jobs right now. The following details might help you to check if its fake or not. Read description carefully you'll see a vague job descriptions. There would be lack of company details. You'll see unrealistic salary offers from the buyer. Check for the previous reviews of the buyer if he/she has any. Additionally, a high number of posted jobs with minimal hires. It's crucial to research the company and contact them directly if possible to verify the legitimacy of the job posting. Jenny JUST LANDED HER FIRST UPWORK OFFER through Direct Invite. 50hrs per Week Full Term Job. Here is what we did differently. As a newbie You can actually get your first offer through direct chat or Invitation from Upwork. Don't be told otherwise. On September’ 4th Jenny paid for my service to revamp her profile and she was full of hope but with the mindset that it is Not possible for Newbies to get Direct Chat and Invitation. During our 40 minute clearity call, I made her understand what matters in Upwork is keywords in your Headline, Summary, Skill section, Portfolio And also being active by applying for jobs once in a while (don't just wait for invites because you revamped your profile) Last Saturday she reached out to me that she got Invitation to interview but she needed assistance with her proposal. Hello Upwork Upwork How Lucky Am I😊😊😊 I have sent several proposals for several jobs before, wasted hundreds of connects with no hire, recently I have changed the way of sending proposals and boom💥. I am excited to tell you how I apply for job. ✅ How many coccects does it need to apply. I only for those job which required 16 or more connects to avoide competition. ✅Number of proposals already sent. I only invest connects for jobs with less than 5 proposals. ✅Total Spend and Hire rate. I only apply for those clients who have spend 1k+ with more than 80% hire rate. ✅Mention client's name in the proposal. While applying for the job, I always see "CLIENT'S RECENT HISTORY" where previous freelancers have given him review with mentioned his name, I always mention the name of client in the proposal. ✅The job posted less than 1 hour ago. Checking these filters may take upto 20 minutes, I apply for those jobs which are posted within the recent 1 hour. ✅Read the description thoroughly. I never react like an early bird. I read the requirement of client in details. ✅Refrence I am a video editor, and I only apply for those job where the client has already add any video link as a refrence, it helps us know what quality the client is expecting. I may vary according to your nieche. ✅Bid The last thing I focus on is Bidding, If anyone has bidded before, I never apply for the job, I nobody has bidded, I bid for one connect to show others that, this job is bidded, this step discourage others to apply for the job. Think this way… You bid 3 jobs daily ↳ 3(job posts) x 19 (connects) = 57 connects ↳ 57 x 45(rupees) = 2,565 rupees (daily) Weekly money on connects ↳ 3 (job posts) x 7 days = 21 job post in total ↳ 21(job posts) x 19 connects = 399 connects ↳ 399 x 45 = 17, 955 (weekly cost) Monthly money on connects ↳ 3 job posts x 30 days = 90 job post ↳ 90 x 19 connects= 1,710 connects ↳ 1710 x 45 = 17, 955 = 76, 950 (monthly cost) You are paying 76,950 rupees. Buy! their service without understanding clients' persona. Keep in mind that you're not going to close the client through your proposal, but trying to engage them only, by sharing a solution about their project while slightly showcasing your proficiency like this: "Your script of ~290 words is enough to understand your brand and its vision, also the reference sample of "ABC" which is created in XYZ style is a good fit according to the script. What if I could bring your idea to life in a short timeframe under your budget without compromising on quality?" 💎Got the idea! Now here are the steps you must follow for usual Upwork proposals: ✔ 1- Use a short but valuable para at start or even you can use a tagline as well, but keep in mind that your starting ~230 characters are most important that clients see before opening your proposal. * Highlight main problems  * Give a solution * Provide HVCO (high-value content offer) about their needs ✔ 2- Professionally showcase your relevant works or case studies to make sure you've experience with similar situations. * Don't write too much about yourself but create case studies and share links professionally * Use attractive taglines for your case studies along with real-life scenarios ✔ 3. Give a short detail about the process of work, pricing, and timeframe. * Give a little bit high quotation and mention that it's negotiable * You can also ask for their deadlines if not given * Design a generic work process by utilizing your regular projects ✔ 4.
