Day 2 at #LondonTechWeek2024 I started my day with a motivating talk by Nevşah Fidan Karamehmet on igniting our inner drive. The key takeaway was about aligning your goals with purpose. I was surprised to learn how 90% of people only use a small part of their brain and how companies exploit that to sell their products 👀 Next up was an inspiring conversation with Viviane Paxinos (AllBright) and Lisa Mae Brunson (Wonder Women Tech). They shared their journey of transforming their business and their efforts in empowering women in their careers 👏🏻👏🏻 I also attended Elinor Honigstein talk on leveraging LinkedIn for professional success and left with some very useful tips.🤔 There were several other insightful talks on AI, including: > How to train models and avoid cultural bias by Mohammad Alnobani (The Middle Frame) > The future of enterprise AI focusing not on more data, but the right data. (Panel discussion) A fascinating session by Humayun Sheikh (Fetch.ai) on their platform that allows anyone to build and deploy AI apps, supporting scaling—definitely something I need to explore further. I also came across some very cool AI applications by Unilever. One helps you understand your hair and scalp to recommend products, and another suggests recipes based on pictures of leftover items (definitely going to play with this tonight)😁 And yes there was a car racing simulator at the Cognizant station that created a lot of excitement. I’m just amazed at the innovation happening around us 🙌🏻 Tomorrow I will be going to AI Summit to check out what else is happening.. #LTW2024

Wild to see New York Tech Week be such a thing still 2 years later. When we started it at Capital, I had to fight, scratch, claw, and (sometimes) beg people and companies to host events. Didn't look like that publicly because we drove a ton of hype and momentum to it. Eventually, the hype becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. But the 0 to 1 to keep that hype going required a ton of effort. Now the whole thing has a momentum of it's own. For example, two companies that told me no to hosting events just invited me to their tech week events for this year. The lesson - drive enough momentum and eventually something becomes the default. Inevitable. Inevitability can be engineered.
