🗣️Yesterday, 19/11, we had the pleasure of having Joana Madureira, a researcher from the C2TN - Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias Nucleares, Instituto Superior Técnico, at Catujal Primary School in Loures. 🧪During her visit, Joana shared with the 8G and 9D classes the work carried out in the C2TN laboratory, highlighting the advantages of using ionising radiation technologies for a more sustainable environment. Joana explained to the 36 students that ionising radiation can be applied in a wide variety of areas, such as the preservation of fresh food, the treatment of waste water and the recovery of agro-industrial waste. ℹ️A session was held as part of the ‘Engineering and Science go to School’ initiative, promoted by Técnico in partnership with the Loures and Técnico Oeiras centres, with the support of several schools in the Lisbon, Loures and Oeiras Municipalities. This initiative invites Técnico teachers, students and researchers back to school to inspire the young! 🙏Thank you to Catujal Primary School for welcoming us. #TecnicoLisboa #TecnicoLoures #ULisboa #CTN #C2TN #School #Youth #Oeiras #IonisingRadiation #TechnologiesRadiation #Technology #Radiation #Science #EducationforScience #Education #Research #Researchers #EnvironmentalSustainability
