I highly recommend this video. Marcia Turner is brilliant, yet simple in her talk about Bringing Indigenous wisdom to systems change. Turner challenges people in a good way to think differently to hold and implement four systems changes based on Trust, Healing, Self-determination and Courage. My favourite quote: "Change requires courage. The courage to dismantle white supremacy, to dismantle the systems causing the inequities, injustice and harms. Courage is stepping forward into that uncomfortable space to give up the power. A TED Talk by James A. Robinson, the 2024 Nobel Prize winner, on 'Why Nations Fail' highlights the importance of property rights as a basic underlying institution for economic progress. When individuals and businesses know that their property is protected from expropriation, they are more likely to invest, innovate, and engage in economic activities that drive growth. Secure property rights create a stable environment where people can plan for the future. This stability encourages investment in new technologies and business ventures, fostering economic progress.

“I’m not racist .. but” This phrase is often used to soften or excuse what comes next, but in reality, it reveals underlying biases. Saying “I’m not racist” doesn’t make it true if our words and actions still harm others. Today we reflect on and celebrate Indigenous traditions and heritage, in recognition of International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous peoples of the world are creators, inheritors and practitioners of rich, sophisticated and unique cultures and ways of sharing knowledge. This year’s theme is protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and one of those rights is the right to be different. Indigenous peoples of this continent are the oldest story tellers in the world.
