For many golf clubs, societies (aka golf days) are one of their biggest revenue generators. So, why do most clubs wait until September / October to start this marketing for golf societies and then stop around February / March time? I understand there are peak 'booking windows', but what about marketing in the summer months too, when the sun is (supposed to be) shining and the appetite for playing golf is the highest for most people? 📈 Should you not try to keep your audience warm all year round so when the time is right for them to buy, your club is top of mind? Read the full article here of how one email sent in July generated 6 golf society bookings in August. 😱 Plus, 5 tips for increasing bookings at your golf club. ➡️https://lnkd.in/dru58R5q #yourgolfmarketing #golfsociety #golfdays

Where are my golfers? I’m excited for this event…you know I specialise in leadership training but did you know there are SO many similarities between golf and being a leader? Playing golf has taught me so much about leadership! 🏌️♂️ Just like in golf, being a great leader means staying focused, being patient, and thinking strategically. Here are a few lessons golf has reinforced: 1. **Preparation is Key**: Just as I practice my swing, leaders must prepare for meetings and projects. 2. **Adaptability**: Weather changes on the course, and business conditions change too. Adapt and keep moving forward. 3. **Patience and Resilience**: Not every shot lands where you want it. Learn from mistakes and stay resilient. Both golf and leadership are continuous journeys of improvement. Let's keep refining our skills and striving for excellence! See you in June at the Whitby Chamber of Commerce golf event at Royal Ashburn Golf Club #Leadership #Golf #ContinuousLearning #Resilience #leadershiptraining #teetime #supportlocal #chamberofcommerce #businessowner #whitby

The Chain - the new short course at Streamsong, is no pitch and putt. Just ask Ben Crenshaw, who, along with Bill Coore designed the course to play like one of the big courses, but just at a shorter distance. It may be the most fun of them all. The recent article from Global Golf Post tells more of the story below.
We're excited to have The Chain short course featured in the most recent issue of Global Golf Post. Check out the story at the link below. https://lnkd.in/ec4ucdHM

Training a better impact position! The only thing the golf ball really cares about is what happens at the moment of impact! I thought TGL was cool, but I don’t think it’s going to last unless they make some changes. Here’s some ideas . . . Current Format We got a blowout last night and the current format was not great in that scenario. Not sure “hey the match is over, but keep watching for playoff tiebreaker implications” was a great look for night one of a new league or will be a great look any night. There will be more blowouts, and the format needs to recognize that and still provide some juice until the end. Even with a close match, I don’t love the current format. Length I thought it moved really fast for a while and then started to drag a bit. Intermission was a bust and totally unnecessary. “Playing through” commercials have got to go (as does DJ Khaled). I think the broadcast window could be 90 minutes. Give me an intro, four quarters of non-stop action with commercials in between and a quick wrap-up interview with winners/losers. The technology and production were awesome. I thought they nailed that and it will still get better (hopefully more stats, better audio, announcers figuring out how to set things up and keep things moving). Shot clock Loved the shot clock. Heartbeat was a nice touch. But it just proved to me these guys can and should play even faster. Nobody got that close to a shot clock violation with 40 seconds to hit. We don’t want guys deciding to take MORE time just because they have it. Give me a shorter shot clock, more pressure, quicker strategizing and decision making, and a greater potential of violations or rushed shots. I think a 30 second shot clock would be better and totally do-able. Format Fixes The match needs to end when it’s over. Reducing from 15 to 12 holes would help with flow and keep matches a little tighter for longer and keep comeback hopes alive. I like the hammer (it could make some noise and smoke when used or something), but once a team is leading and has the current hammer, it pretty much takes it out of the game as a team protects their lead. Maybe add the option for the losing team to “Press” in the fourth quarter (doubling the points) and give the losing team the hammer to start the fourth quarter or let the losing team “steal” it if not used for 2 or 3 holes by the other team. Team uniforms I get the players have sponsor obligations, but not a single player even had their team logo . . . anywhere! I get they were wearing matching colors, but you want people to buy merch when the players don’t even wear the logo? Website and App No notes. Well done. Hole Design A solid start and some fun holes, but I think holes need to have way more risk/reward towards the end of the match to add some volatility and pressure. With simulator golf rapidly expanding, it would be cool to eventually be able to play TGL holes on regular sims and would build more excitement for the matches. This should probably have already been in place at launch in a perfect world and people should be playing TGL holes today.
Our first match is in the books! Swipe 👉 to check out highlights from The Bay Golf Club's victory over New York Golf Club.
