🍷 Cheers to Teamwork! 🍷 This Friday afternoon, as we join in the celebrations of Aussie Wine Month, we at Family Law Matters are reminded of the collaboration and camaraderie that make our team exceptional. It's a pleasure to unwind together, reflecting on our “wins for the week” and the positive impacts we’ve made on our clients' lives. 📸 Here’s a glimpse of our team enjoying a responsible, relaxing end to the week - a spot of white from Hungerford Hill in the Hunter Valley (and a bit of Ginger Beer too). A Moment for Mindfulness While we celebrate, we're also mindful of the challenges many face during life journeys like divorce. It’s not uncommon for people experiencing separation to turn to alcohol to soothe their distress. This Aussie Wine Month, we want to highlight the importance of approaching alcohol with care. Healthy Habits During Tough Times During times of stress, maintaining healthy habits is crucial. We encourage everyone—our clients, colleagues, and friends—to seek positive and constructive ways to cope. Whether through professional support, community activities, or personal wellness practices, it’s important to address emotional needs in a healthy and sustainable way. 🎆 Happy 4th of July! 🎆 July 4th has always been my favorite holiday. It takes me back to my Grandparent’s ranch in Northern California – the smell of the grill, family barbecues, and spectacular backyard fireworks. Those perfect midsummer days when everything seemed possible. Celebrating the 4th was all about freedom in every way. I’m smiling ear to ear just thinking about it. Today, I’m raising a glass to that same freedom. As a business owner, I have the liberty to attend a dear friend’s wedding, celebrate family birthdays, and enjoy the 4th just the way I love, while choosing my own work hours. Cheers to all of you amazing business owners! Here’s to the hard work, the rewards, and the freedom we’ve created. Happy Independence Day! 🎇 PS - If your 4th isn’t going as planned and you’re feeling more chained to your work than free, let’s chat. I can help. Promise. Just send me a message. #IndependenceDay #FemaleLeadership #BusinessStrategy #FreeRangeThinking #AIInnovation

I don't often get to work alongside Dave but when I do, it is always the most fun. Sure, he might have left me flying solo at the Stone Awards last year, but I didn't let him miss out on 2 hours with our Accountant yesterday... It might not sound like a midweek treat, but the time that we spend with Matt Williams is so valuable. To call him an Accountant is probably doing an injustice. For 5 years now he has been a sounding board for us, sense checking every decision that we make and gently challenging our ideas to make sure that Athena Stonecare Ltd. can flourish. You can't put a price on this and it's the same as all of the little extras that we do for clients. This morning I spent 15 minutes writing an email to someone who had enquired simply asking for advice on how to look after her stone. It was one of the highlights of my day. Being able to do something that would help someone by using the knowledge that I have. They say that your time is your most valuable asset and if we added it to our P&L I'm sure we would end up in the red. However, kindness is reciprocal and I'd rather invest in my future by giving freely now. How do you ensure that your services are more than just what is listed on your website? #womeninbusiness #familybusiness #businessgrowth

"Private Victories Over Public Celebration" For the longest period of time I always saw the success story of big figures and wanted to replicate that from myself too. But recently I realised that these public celebrations come out as an outcome of the numerous private victories , which according to me are the most necessary for building a strong inner foundation. While public recognition and accolades can be gratifying, it is the private victories that truly define our growth and character. These are the moments of personal triumph, achieved through dedication, resilience, and self-discipline, often unseen by the world. Private victories build a strong inner foundation, fostering self-respect and genuine confidence. They are the quiet achievements that propel us forward, fueling our motivation and commitment. When we focus on these internal milestones, we cultivate a sense of purpose and fulfillment that isn’t dependent on external validation. Prioritizing private victories ensures that our success is rooted in authenticity and self-improvement, making any public celebration a reflection of our true, hard-earned progress. Arrivals and Departures That was the reflection we sank into. As this year ends and the next year begins, what do we want to: 🤗 Welcome in more fully 🪁 Let go It was a beautiful group of creators, wise elders, seekers, and connectors. Some were household names, some less visible, but every one a deeply soulful and kind human. It was an honor to sit in circle with them and reflect on life in such a heartfelt way. The consistent theme was to let go of: control, striving, worrying. And, we will welcome in: trust, allowing and (a phrase from Bria Martin (she/her)) resting in our power. Whether the person was 70 or 37, those themes held deep resonance. It brought to life for me a sort of koan given to me by my guide - 'allow nothing to happen' - which I have sorted out to mean: do your best, clarify your intent, take aligned action, and then allow nothing to happen... and see what happens. 😄 This is opposed to unconsciously white-knuckling your intent, squeezing it, carrying it around, worrying about it, and somehow believing that constriction will result in creation. So, I share this: I invite you to consider your arrivals and departures in 2025. Feel free to borrow or riff on the one that resonated with my community. And, if you'd like to share yours in the comments, I'd be grateful - and we all know public sharing helps in manifesting. : ) For our gathering, one of the guests created a wonderful and whimsical 'portable altar' for us that was a wonderful centerpiece to our circle (see picture). And, if you are an organizational leader, I'd be honored to help you think about how you might bring this practice to your team as you prepare for the year ahead. https://lnkd.in/gVhiQgpw Wishing you all a wonderful season.
