🌐 Method Validation and Uncertainty of Measurement in a Chemistry Laboratory 🎓⚗️ I had the opportunity to participate in an insightful webinar by MiChem Dynamics (Pty) Ltd, diving deep into the critical areas of method validation and measurement uncertainty in chemistry labs. 🧪 The session was led by Vinay Moodley, provided essential knowledge and practical approaches to ensure lab measurements meet high-quality standards. The importance of precise, validated methods cannot be overstated—especially when it comes to ensuring reliability, accuracy, and compliance. 📏✅

Interesting. More efficient?
Our new weapon of mass compaction…!💪👍 and with 2 of these 226 Polygonal deep compaction rollers, we can now finish the job twice as quick for you if you’re finding those deadlines are creeping up on you!! With over 10 years of experience on the 226 we know what we are doing so you’ll be in good hands 😊💪

I'm excited to share my recent publication in Nature: Mechanisms of actin filament severing and elongation by formins. We used cryo-EM to solve 7 structures of 2 formins, providing a step-by-step mechanism of actin severing and elongation. https://lnkd.in/eRT-en2g

We see from the experiment that higher rotation speed results in larger amounts of thrust from the flagella. Furthermore, we see that at higher rotation speeds, the amount of thrust from a rigid flagella is noticeably greater than that from the soft flagella, due to the deformation of the soft flagella. In the second figure, we also see that more rigid flagella (higher Young’s Modulus) tend to produce more thrust than soft flagella. (6/9 Bio-Inspired Interaction)

Recently, in joint work with Yang Li, we answered a longstanding question raised by Taubes (1991) and proved a compactness theorem for Fueter sections towards defining a new 3-manifold Floer theory. We believe this result is a key step in our program to prove the Donaldson-Segal conjecture. Here’s a recent video of my talk on the subject for anyone interested in knowing more about this program: https://lnkd.in/e3puiaAV

"Fear of dragons shall not prevent us from sailing into uncharted waters" Our Clinical Lead, Carlos J. Chaccour D. attended the Barcelona International Cough Conference (https://lnkd.in/dSVPpPQN) and presented the session 'There be Dragons: Going Beyond 24 Hours in Cough Monitoring' If you're interested in: - The accuracy of Hyfe's cough monitoring technology, - Why 24-hour cough monitoring doesn't work and how we can obtain better insights, - How we fight the dragons of cough monitoring: privacy concerns, battery life, the issue of leaving the phone behind, distinguishing between not being monitored and not being captured, and non-participant coughs, watch the entire presentation here: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/df7w5suv

"We get our vision checked every year so the Secchi doesn't get shallower as we get older." Mike Cain, TERC Boat Captain, and Field Lab Director. All kidding aside, we've been tracking clarity in Lake Tahoe for over 60 years in low-tech and high-tech ways. Low-tech is our friend, the Secchi disk. TERC has taken Secchi disk measurements for over 60 years on Lake Tahoe and documented the loss of over 30 feet of clarity! But we are starting to see those trends reverse. Click the follow button to find out the high-tech ways!
