We're used to seeing renderings of satellites and the International Space Station in space, but how about the real image? 🤩 We captured this image of the ISS as it passed over the Indian Ocean from a satellite 69.06 km away. By delivering non-Earth imaging at scale, generating hundreds of images per month, we are actively contributing to the sustainability of space. Two new microsatellites, Redwing and the Little Innovator in Space Situational Awareness, or LISSA, will travel in a low-earth orbit, at approximately 575 km above the Earth’s surface. “In March 2023, Minister of National Defence at the time, the Honourable Anita Anand, announced that Canada awarded a contract for the Redwing space domain awareness microsatellite project, valued at $15.8 million, to be designed, built and operated in Canada. Now, Canada has signed a contract option to add a $900,000 subsatellite to the Redwing project. The subsatellite, known as Little Innovator in Space Situational Awareness (LISSA), will launch with the Redwing satellite and will be deployed after Redwing is in orbit.” Thoth Technology Inc.

With the new update the radar image coverage has increased significantly in the Canadian Arctic, Greenland and the Central Arctic Ocean. We also improved our processing algorithms which is why radar images are not only available on a daily basis in most Arctic regions now, but they are available much quicker as well. We actually had to add a new tile age value for radar images to account for this massive improvement: < 1 hour The tile age representation was updated as well.
