Emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere. Even with the best preparation, adapting to a new country—especially on a different continent and with a language barrier—can be overwhelming. With that in mind, iMergencies is honoured to be a Silver sponsor for the upcoming meet-and-greet with Paul Raymund Cortes, the Ambassador of the Filipino community in Portugal, courtesy of Emman De Guzman from Cat Mafia Media. Understanding each community's unique needs is crucial for iMergencies. Events like this provide us with valuable insights to tailor our services, ensuring we offer timely and relevant support, and helping different communities feel safer and more settled when they choose Portugal as their new home. The people of Africa can partner across countries to do business in a bigger way, more effectively and more profitably. They can partner in various technological frontiers with powerful and uniquely African ideas. They can borrow the best of what has worked in other places and apply it to Africa at a continental level which would also increase the visibility of contributions made by Africans to the progress of the human civilization. https://lnkd.in/dpchbMRu

Tonight, I had a great time hosting Mavis Owusu, the incoming President of the African Center for Economic Transformation (@AcetforAfrica), at my home in Johannesburg. We discussed many topics, but what stood out was her desire to see economic transformation for Africa. I challenged her to address the complex visa situation facing Africans if she really wants to achieve this goal. African Center for Economic Development advises African governments on growth with DEPTH: diversification, economic competitiveness, productivity, technology, and human wellbeing. When our countries grow, it must benefit everyone in them not just a few elites as is the case at the moment in Africa. We can only achieve this if we make regional integration a reality and not just a buzzword. Follow Mavis Owusu-Gyamfi and @AcetforAfrica if you are interested in these key issues for the continent.
