I was inspired by David Roldán Martínez and Sergi Acebes demo'ing their API board game at last week's API Conference Berlin. I could feel how doing something instead of just listening draws you in and makes you think in different ways. Now I am wondering whether we could turn API business models into a board game? 🎥 API Business Models: Creating Value with APIs - https://lnkd.in/eMtPDsBD What about using John Musser's API business model collection as a starting point, and then building game mechanics around it? You'd have various opportunities in your value chains, and depending on what these look like you can play certain "business model cards". You can have certain boosters and problems along the way while you are trying to make your business model succeed. In the end, just like with the API business model workshops that I am doing, I'd like to help people to better understand the complete design space and the breadth of possibilities that there are. Whatever helps with that is great, and maybe a board game would be a unique and engaging way of doing it.
