Our Mental Health First Aiders are excited to share some dynamic ways to incorporate movement into your daily routine: 🏃 Get Active: Regular exercise, whether a morning jog or cycling to work, can significantly reduce stress and improve your mood. 🌳 Connect with Nature: Take your breaks outdoors. 🌍💚 World Mental Health Day is a timely reminder to prioritize our well-being. This past month has been a whirlwind of managing the social content calendar, social listening, compliance training, and strategic initiatives. As a perfectionist, I often push myself to deliver my best, but I’m learning the importance of balance. I find joy in the small things—waking up early to watch the sunrise, enjoying quick, comforting meals, and unwinding with my guitar at midnight. Let’s remember that it’s okay to pause and care for ourselves. “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” Let’s lift each other up on this journey. 💪✨ #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalWellness #GrowthMindset

Building Boundaries for Mental Health Are your boundaries strong enough to protect your well-being? Setting boundaries at work can be a game-changer for your mental health. I’ve seen clients transform their energy and confidence by learning how to say ‘no’ or delegate without guilt. It’s not about doing less—it’s about doing what serves you better. 👉 Tip: Start small. Try setting a firm boundary around one thing—maybe it’s no emails after 6 p.m. and see the shift. Together, we can build these healthy habits! #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek #WorkLifeBalance #Boundaries #SkylineCoaching

🌍 World Mental Health Day was yesterday. Reflecting on Mental Health, I think Self-Care is such an important part of it and specifically taking out time for our hobbies and interests. Remember 💭 that thing you used to do, that hobby, that interest that was so exciting, that gave you relaxation/down time, the thing you were so passionate about. Why did you stop doing it? No time 🕰️ Go back to it! Make the time! Self-Care is NOT Selfishness. Self-Care is ESSENTIAL. #SelfCare #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness #YouAreNotAlone #Wellbeing #MindfulLiving

🌟Life Update It’s been about a year since my last post, and I wanted to share a recent experience that has resonated with me. On October 10th, I volunteered at a mental health talk show hosted by Ashesi University's CCA in collaboration with CalMe Mental Health to commemorate World Mental Health Day. It was an incredible opportunity to hear insights from Dr. Isaac Newman-Arthur, Ms. Priscilla Adjei-Mensah, and Dr. Salim Wangabi. Their experiences and advice answered questions I had been pondering for years. Here are some key lessons I took away: - Positivity about the future makes challenges easier to face and diminishes fears. - Focusing on the goal rather than the process enhances your clarity and motivation. - We do not act based on how we feel, but because it has to be done. Mastering self-control is a necessary and sufficient condition for achieving your goals. A quote that particularly struck me was by Brene Brown: “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” I want to remind everyone that you’re doing better than you think. We’re all growing at our own pace, and that’s perfectly okay! #growth #lifeupdate #mentalhealth

Children and young people with SEND are disproportionately affected by mental health issues. Whilst a 2023 NHS England report said that 1 in 5 children and young people are likely to have a mental disorder, we know for those with SEND, the rates are considerably higher. Children and young people face significant challenges in accessing the support they need. Long waiting-times, high thresholds and fragmented services are the norm across the country. A report by Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition (CYPMHC) last year showed that shockingly around 75% of young people experiencing a mental health problem are forced to wait so long that their condition gets worse, or they are unable to access any treatment at all. It is often, schools that must bridge the gap by providing in-house support. This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we’re celebrating the dedication of NASS member schools like Phoenix Learning & Care Group to support their pupils' wellbeing.
🌿 As Mental Health Awareness Week begins, let's remember the importance of movement for mental well-being. Outdoor activities offer valuable opportunities for our pupils to reduce stress, boost mood, and connect with nature. Let's prioritize movement this week and beyond! #MentalHealth #WellBeing #MovementMatters #MoveYourWay🌳
