At the just concluded Shekinah Hour Youth Leadership Conference, apart from educating our attendees, some youths were recognized and guest speakers awarded in appreciation of their performance during the conference. It was emphasized that self-leadership is the first step in any leadership endavour because the ability to lead yourself will determine how you will lead others. Leadership is not by position nor tittle. Leadership is taking the lead while others follow. Leadership is not talking but taking the action required. Leadership is influence nothing more nothing less according to John C Maxwell. The influence must be a positive one, not the negative type! After two decades of leadership experience, I've learned you have an advantage when your journey includes: 1) Inner development 2) Understanding of human nature 3) Insights into culture The advantage of these is greater than a degree. Here are the methods I have used to grow in these three areas: 1) Read for 15 minutes per day 2) Have a mentor in focused areas 3) Study for degrees/certifications 4) Talk to people 5) Observe people 6) Build close personal relationships 7) Study interpersonal scenarios 8) Watch/read current events 9) Work to see other points of view This part of my leadership journey is fulfilling because it enables me to coach other leaders through their journey. Please let me know if I can help you - https://lnkd.in/gMYVMWTq

LEAD WHERE YOU ARE. Can you be Trust as a Leader? It's a great privilege to attend The Global Leadership Submit this year. I was Inspired and Equip from the lectures. I was excited to sit and listen to noble men and women whose leadership skills have made a tremendous impact. During Day 1, I learnt alot of things but I went home with these 3 things from Craig Groeschel teachings on how to create a culture of trust: 1. Transparency 2. Empathy 3. Consistency The Future of Leadership IS TRUST

Exploring Personality Types in Educational Leadership: Insights from Personal Experience If you worked with me in Australia during my earlier pathway to leadership, you might connect with some ideas I share here about personality types in leadership. Personal reflections only. I am sharing a story I have shared many times before. In leadership workshops, I have led keynote conferences, chats over coffee, and lessons shared with developing leaders, using this story to explore perspectives about diversity. Whether I am right or wrong, I hope this reflection prompts you to reflect critically on your pathway to leadership as you forge new plans for the future. Reflections and rationale about reflections often have holes but the process is important. (Disclaimer) Here is the article link: https://bit.ly/40LcYrx #internationalschools #settingupschools

📚 Book Of The Month: "The Leader Who Had No Title" by Robin Sharma 📚 This quick and empowering read by Robin Sharma encourages each of us to lead, regardless of job title or position. He emphasizes that leadership is about action, not position - everyone has the potential to make a significant impact and drive positive change no matter where they are! Based on this book, we even created a foundational leadership certificate - Leading From Where You Are - that highlights the importance of leadership at every level, from groundskeeper to CEO. Like Robin Sharma says, "Leadership is less about the position you hold than the influence you have". This is a 10/10 must read for anyone and everyone!
