As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, understanding diverse business practices is not just beneficial—it’s essential. That’s why we’re thrilled to share our recent Global City Seminars initiative, a journey through Seoul, Stockholm, and Madrid that offered our students a deep dive into the business dynamics of these vibrant cities. 🌐 Seoul taught us the power of technology and innovation, shaping the future right before our eyes. Our students experienced the pulse of a tech powerhouse, gaining insights from leading experts in the field. 🌐 Madrid unraveled the complexities of digital transformation in financial services, providing a rare glimpse into the evolving landscape of finance, from fintech startups to global banking giants. 🌐 Stockholm showcased the unique Nordic approach to business, blending disruption, innovation, and sustainability into a model that’s as effective as it is responsible. These seminars are just the beginning. We’re committed to broadening our horizons and yours, with more seminars in more cities on the horizon. In what cities shall we unlock the best business practices?
With the summer comes Hult City Seminars. This June, a trio of world-beating cities: Seoul, Stockholm, and Madrid hosted students from 59 nationalities. What was on the agenda? Read below for exactly what our students squeezed out of each city: 🇰🇷 Seoul: Rise of a Tech Powerhouse A leading light on the tech scene; Seoul is a city in its professional prime. This seminar was hosted by professors Terence Tse, PhD and Mark Esposito, PhD on the role of conglomerates in the fourth industrial revolution. They hit the Samsung Innovation Campus, an event with Wave Tech, and the Korean National Museum to get a real 360 look at this forward-thinking metropolis. Guest speakers included international litigation lawyer Sarah Choi, Web3 marketing expert Charlotte Lee and Joshua Park from SolBridge International School of Business. 🇪🇸 Madrid: Digital Transformation of Financial Services What is the future of finance? Students got an exclusive look while visiting Spain’s fast-moving capital Madrid. Professor Guillermo Torres headed up an all-star cast of superstars from across the spectrum of finance. Over the week they got direct access to innovative info on the insurance and banking sectors, meeting professionals from BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, ING España&Portugal, Verti, andAmazon Web Services (AWS). No stone was left unturned as the students turned the microscope on everyone; from fintech startups to international banks. 🇸🇪 Stockholm: Nordic Business Dynamics and Navigating Disruption, Innovation, & Sustainability In the Nordic states, they do things differently. Led by Professors Henrik Totterman, D.Sc. and Patrick Furu, Hult collaborated with Swedish high-street staple Espresso House Group, where the students were split into 7 teams to tackle a business challenge. The Espresso House team; Tobias Frohm, Chief People & Sustainability Officer, Siham Akkawi, Stockholm Regional Manager, and Jessica J., Sustainability Manager were on hand with insider advice as well as marketing executives from marketing agency Miltton Sweden; to help students think outside the box. With these three just the beginning, Hult’s global status is set to skyrocket with even more seminars in more exciting cities, right around the corner. #hultbusinessschool #cityseminars #seoul #stockholm #madrid #finance #sustainability #tech

🌍 Exploring Global Dynamics: Viewing the World as a Comprehensive Corporate Structure As a business student, I've consistently found intriguing parallels between global interactions and corporate frameworks. I propose a theory where the world operates like a comprehensive parent corporation: continents resemble distinct companies, and countries function as individual franchises. This perspective helps to elucidate international relationships and strategies. Key Highlights: • America is positioned as a leading entity by investing in its "moving products"—educated and innovative citizens—despite limited natural resources. • EU/UK acts as a major player, focusing on human capital, culture, and innovation but facing resource challenges. • Africa is rich in natural resources but often underdeveloped in human capital, affecting its global standing. Essential dynamics such as governments as administrators, branding, cultural variations, and the importance of political impact and resource allocation parallel corporate strategies. I draw further parallels, like barcodes and passports or quality products and talent, to illustrate how countries, like businesses, must effectively manage resources and branding to thrive globally. 🔍 I'd love to hear your thoughts: • Do you find this perspective on global dynamics insightful or accurate? • How do these analogies resonate with your understanding of international relations? • What improvements or additions might make this framework more robust? While the concept of comparing global dynamics to corporate structures is not entirely new, my framework offers a unique perspective by integrating specific contemporary elements such as branding, cultural influences, and the interplay between human capital and natural resources. This personalised approach provides fresh insights into how countries, akin to business franchises, navigate the complexities of international relations and global economic strategies. Feel free to share your insights and comments below. I'm eager to engage in a thoughtful discussion and learn from diverse perspectives! https://lnkd.in/eW2Y5cct https://lnkd.in/ec78pz-N https://lnkd.in/eYpEiaZu https://lnkd.in/euj4bybA https://lnkd.in/emPM85um https://lnkd.in/eSNXZq3Y #GlobalDynamics #BusinessTheory #InternationalRelations #CorporateStructure #WorldView #aru Anglia Ruskin University ARU London Employability
