Hmm, you're welcome to the pies my 10 day HR. We are so thankful you've chosen to take this month long journey with us. So grateful for this opportunity to be sponsored by and so partners. First and foremost, Happy new year. Let us take a few moments to just understand what the pause is. The pause is a sure effective 15 minute sit reset to gain greater capacity, clarity and connection to South. We believe that the more we take care of ourselves on the inside, the better we can do the work on the outside. So everything at 10 DHR is an invitation for you to simply choose what's right for you, knowing everything is backed by research for your performance as a leader. So we'll start by just adjusting our body if you're listening in. Via seat, feeling the body held. Of course you can take the pause wherever you are, so if you are walking, really just connecting to each footstep. If you're listening on the go, doing what you need to be present. Hmm, it might be nice to close the eyes or look down holding a soft gaze. And we connect to our breath with intention. As we inhale. We claim this moment as ours. And as we exhale, we let go of anything that is not serving us. The breath is a great resource to bring us to the present moment. To. Better support our nervous system. And it feels good. So yes, there's plenty of science of the why, but can you feel good on your next breath in? Grateful for this breath of fresh air. Something grateful for the release to let go. Making space. And so for the pause, we usually begin with the breath, we have a soft chat on the theme, we move the body with ease, and then we do some type of work to really support that for the time we're together. And then how to take it forward. So it might be nice to bring the palms together, rubbing the hands, creating some heat. We're going to stay connected to our breath. And this opening first practice is intention. So when I share the word intention, just be curious what comes up for you? Is there a sense of excitement? Maybe there's a sense of overwhelm? Everything here, again, is an invitation, and it's not to overwhelm our system, but to get us excited. We get to, we don't have to, we get to, and we're going to rub the pumps even faster, creating heat. Friction. Warmth, comfort, biggest breath of your day, nowhere else you have to be. And out. God, we're gonna take these hands and notice where every part of the body feels a little achy, sore, dull, and maybe we just take those hands and we just give a little love squeeze. So maybe the shoulders been tense. Maybe there's been lots of thoughts. Maybe you've been talking a lot. The jaw is tired. Maybe the low back feels a little tight. Maybe the knees feel a little achy. We can let the palms rest on our lap. We're going to start to roll the shoulders up, back and down. And so yes, we're going to do some work setting our intention for the new month, the new doorway of 2025. But I want to bring it down to a even more basic level, the intention of how you wish to feel in the moment. So we're rolling our shoulders with the intention that we createspace in the muscles around the neck. The intention of feeling more openness through our chest so that we can breathe deeper. And the intention to support healthy joints, shoulder joints, feeling into the body, doing things in the short, effective way that might go missed. Next time shoulders come up, let's squeeze, get intense, hold with tension and exhale. Good, two more. Last one, give it all you have. Perfect. Let's brush off the shoulders, clearing any debris of 2024 that's trying to stay stuck. Sometimes things are like Velcro and we just keep brushing off again and again. And we lovingly believe that it's not a one time and done here it is small, consistent, showing up, ways to support ourselves. We can brush off the hands. Let the palms rest on the lap if you'd like to twist in any way pulling the core in. Stay with the breath, maybe sigh it out, maybe take some circles and just free flow stretch. Maybe you yawn or sigh. Guide And then we're going to start to slow down. It might be nice as we go into a little meditation visualization to interlock the palms. There's just some comfort here. There's a sense of stability and we do believe in stability as a leader first and foremost. So we grip our hands and this symbolizes that we have ourself for to manage and lead people. We have to be able to lead ourself as well. So let's continue to hold with a comfort grip, not causing pain but just this sense of security and can rest the palms on the lap. If that doesn't feel good, do what you need. The eyes can stay close or holding a softness. And let us just start with one more full breath in together. And we're going to take it slow. So let's be slow and thoughtful on the inhale. Once the breath is full at the top, we let go. Slow, thoughtful release. We can stay with the slow breath or return to a natural state. And so here we are working with the theme of intention. In our society, there's this innate urge, this readiness at the doorway of the new year to resolve. To create new. And so we start. Our time together with intention, because intention holds something a little different than resolution. Intention propels us forward. It is being thoughtful. It is being. In the ability to choose what is right for you. And yes, there is great purpose and we highly encourage to set your goals of course. But what about if we just come back to the intention of how do you want to feel? So let us take a few moments, whatever comes up and through for us, knowing we all each navigate. Different ways. Holding different people. Different dynamics. If I were to ask you, how do you want to feel consistently throughout your day? What is the first word quality emotional state that comes to you? Once you see it here, it feel it however it appears. Like a light switch, can we start to turn that on, generate that emotion? So if you're welcoming MP's, maybe you soften the jaw. If you're welcoming gratitude, maybe you think or see something you're grateful for. Happiness maybe starting to feel light charging up the cells in your body. And the way we train our bodies when we want to be strong and our physicality going to the gym. Be mindful of what we're eating, devoting to that time. The same for how we want to feel throughout our day-to-day. We have to put the work in. Otherwise, if we're not proactively being intentional on how we wish to feel, likely we're going to feel however the circumstances around us. Are. Many of you likely did not choose when we prompted that you want to feel exhausted? You wanna feel angry? You wanna feel stressed. So this is a moment here at the doorway of a new year, knowing that again and again and again, we do these micro moments of our work. But how do you want to choose to feel? And we're just going to start with today. Today. January 1st and of course this can be applied any day of the year. How do you want to feel for this day? Let us just do one day here and now. Name it, claim it, feel it, and maybe in your mind if you want to take it, see how it can play out as you move forward in your day. With whatever you have on the agenda, the calendar, the to do. They get to not have to. I'm going to take a full breath in, biggest breath, and then let's hold the breath in just for a micro moment. And then we let it go. Before we move the body a little more, that is, stay where we are and take this time to set the intention, the intention of how you wish to feel as you move through your day, knowing that you have already tended to yourself. Once it's set, breathe in if it's available to sound it out. HUH. Ah. OK. I'm keeping this softness in the eyes as they start to open. We're going to bring our palms together. We're going to create this heap. There's comfort and this readiness. So no matter what, is ahead of you for the day. You have set the tone. And that is the greatest gift. So may you feel gratitude for yourself in this moment for taking the time 15 minutes. It does not take long for you to get what you need. We'll rub a little faster. Big breath in. And big breath out. That will slow the palms down. They can stay together, pressing with intensity. They can come to the heart, the belly, or rest onto the lap. Hmm. And as we prepare to close the pause, knowing that everything you just put into action is done. And of course, if you'd like to keep it going, you can write about it. You can be in conversation about it. We are so thankful that you have chosen to take this time. Thank you from the team at 10 Day HR and Anne SO partners. Until next time, wishing you incredible day.To view or add a comment, sign in
