Some like it hot….. It may look slightly alien, a bit like a modern-day robot with outstretched arms and a white top but this sub-assembly is from our Wallace Instruments O14 heating block that is fitted into the Wallace O14 #AgeingChamber. The white material is insulation made from a calcium silicate-based material used for its properties for heat shielding. The four round Peek supports add to the insulation when the #subassembly is finally installed. So why all the insulation? The sub-assembly contains an 180watt heater band. This unit can get warm, very warm! This is yet another illustration of the skill of our assembly and #supplychain teams who are an invaluable and integral part of TENON Engineering. Pump Alignment ensures that the pump and its driver (usually a motor) are correctly aligned to prevent mechanical issues, excessive vibrations, and premature wear. Misalignment can cause serious operational problems, such as: Increased vibration and noise Premature bearing and coupling failures Shaft fatigue or breakage Reduced efficiency and increased energy consumption Types of Alignment: 1. Parallel (Offset) Misalignment Shafts are parallel but not collinear. 2. Angular Misalignment Shafts are at an angle to each other. 3. Combined Misalignment Both offset and angular misalignment. Methods of Alignment: 1. Straightedge and Feeler Gauge Method: Basic but less accurate. 2. Dial Indicator Method: Measures the relative position of shafts with high precision. 3. Laser Alignment: Modern, highly accurate, and efficient for complex systems. Steps for Proper Alignment: 1. Pre-Alignment Checks: Ensure foundations are level and secure. Check for pipe strain or soft foot conditions. 2. Rough Alignment: Perform a preliminary adjustment using a straightedge or basic tools. 3.
