Paper, as we all know, is the ubiquitous material that has recorded society in letter and document form. The transition to a digital world of emails, online magazines, etc has diminished how a paper’s surface is used, most notably in the newsprint industry. Here you can see paper being used as a protector of the previously #groundsurface whilst this component is finally ground to length and parallel to the datum face. If the paper was not used, then the surface would be excessively scratched, as the component is attached to the magnetic chuck on this #cylindricalgrinder. With the paper sandwiched between the surface and magnetic chuck there is still a perfect finish. So whence does this paper come from? The waste copies from the photocopier - paperless society!! ⚙️ www.tenonengineering.co.uk #QualityControl #QualityAssurance #PrecisionEngineering #PrecisionManufacturing #UKmfg #UKManufacturing #Engineering Terry Healy Chris Norval Mary Norval
