Every 10 minutes, partners and family members killed a woman intentionally in 2023. 🧡 Today, on the #InternationalDayfortheEliminationofViolenceAgainstWomen, we are proud to join the international community to draw attention to this escalating human rights violation. We are here to make a stand, promote advocacy, demand accountability and call for an end to the cycle of gender-based violence. ✋ This is why the slogan for this year’s internal campaign to #EndViolenceAgainstWomen at Tenova is “Raise a Hand – Make a Stand”. Employees have been encouraged to make personalized red handprints to symbolize their commitment and raise awareness. “For decades, the fight against gender-based violence has been led by women’s rights movements, but this is not an issue that women alone should be burdened with solving. Men have an important role to play and must hold each other to account. This is a human rights issue that is about achieving equality, development and peace. For us at Tenova, it means ensuring a safe environment for all our employees. Above all, it means fostering a culture of inclusiveness rooted in respect and equality,” commented Roberto Pancaldi, Tenova CEO. Let’s unite to end violence against women 👉 https://lnkd.in/diSce8MB #NoExcuse #16Days

Everyone deserves to be safe, equal and respected. But right now in Australia, that isn’t the reality. More than 1 in 3 women have experienced men’s violence. Not all disrespect leads to violence against women – but all violence against women begins with disrespect. All of us have the power to change that by respecting women wherever we live, learn, work and play. Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and it marks the start of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which will culminate on International Human Rights Day (December 10). We're taking part in the 16 Days of Activism to help build communities where women are safe and equal. It all starts with respect. #16Days #16DaysOfActivism

Currently, the ‘Orange the World Campaign: 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence’ is taking place worldwide. This campaign aims to mobilize individuals, organizations, and governments to eliminate violence against women and girls. Globally, every 11 minutes a women or girl is murdered by a family member or (ex)partner, so let us all UNiTE to end violence against women. #OrangeTheWorld #NoExcuse Violence against women and girls has also been one of the topics our Ambassador, Charlotte van Baak van Baak, has discussed with the president of the Committee for Gender-equality, Marija Lugarić on Thursday. In a fruitful exchange of experiences, the issue of inequalities between men and women in both countries, such as pay-gaps, glass ceilings and uneven playing fields in general, were discussed. The active promotion of women’s rights, as a human right, and the prevention of violence against women and girls is a shared interest of both governments and was underlined by a mutual belief in future cooperation to support different initiatives in the field of gender-equality. On Day 14 of the #16Days of Activism, we’re highlighting the urgent need for systems-level change to address violence against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. As reported by National Indigenous Times, these women face disproportionate levels of violence, and the systems meant to protect them often fail to provide the support and justice they deserve. We must listen, amplify their voices, and advocate for systemic reforms that address the root causes of violence, ensure culturally safe support, and promote true equality. It’s time for a change that empowers and protects all women. 💜 #16Days #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #IndigenousWomen #JusticeForIndigenousWomen #SupportSurvivors #SystemicChange #StopTheViolence #GenderEquality #OurVoiceMatters

Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a powerful reminder of a devastating reality: every 10 minutes, a woman is killed due to gender-based violence. This year’s UN 16 Days of Activism (25 November - 10 December) campaign #NoExcuse. UNiTE to End Violence against Women calls on all of us to act against this crisis that transcends borders and affects nearly 1 in 3 women globally. At Maka Language Consulting, we prioritize raising awareness and fostering change. In our daily work—whether focusing on global content or cross-cultural communication, we strive to challenge stereotypes, empower individuals, and amplify messages of equality and respect. Yet, awareness alone is not enough. Action matters. From addressing microaggressions, calling out sexist jokes, and questioning your perspective to creating inclusive environments, every step counts. Through appropriate language and intentional training, we can foster a culture where safety and dignity are fundamental rights for all. Let’s speak out, raise awareness, and take action to build a world where violence against women is never accepted as normal. #internationaldayagainstviolenceagainstwomen #november25th #NoExcuse #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #GenderEquality #16DaysOfActivism #StopGBV #EmpowerWomen #ActNow #SafeSpacesForWomen #SpeakOut #UNWomen #GlobalAction #DEI

It starts with us. When we laugh at a sexist joke, when we look the other way as a man disrespects a woman, when we ignore a plea for help — that’s when we become part of the problem. It's time to take responsibility and change the narrative. Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed. In 2023, over 51,100 women lost their lives to intimate partner or family violence. This staggering statistic highlights the urgent need to tackle gender-based violence, which is intensifying in homes, workplaces, and online spaces, worsened by conflicts and climate change. On the 25th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the 16 Days of Activism campaign calls for stronger national strategies and better-funded women’s rights movements. At Cohere, we're committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces through our DE&I initiatives and Sensitization & Awareness Workshops. Together, let's turn awareness into action and end gender-based violence. #NoExcuse #UNiTEToEndViolence #DEI #GenderEquality #EndViolence #SafeWorkplaces #WomensRights #InclusiveFuture #16DaysOfActivism #StopTheViolence #OrangeTheWorld
