Debunking Myths and Ensuring Data Security with LLMs 🤖🔐 Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming AI, but misconceptions and security risks persist. 🧐 1. Myth: LLMs store text. Reality: LLMs use parameters, not text, to generate responses. 2. Myth: Prompts always control outputs. Reality: Without proper guardrails, LLMs can still produce unpredictable content. 3. Security Risk: Input manipulation. Solution: Implement input validation to avoid adversarial attacks. 4. Risk: Mistakes and hallucinations. Solution: Use output filters to detect errors and bias. To maximize LLM potential, focus on secure inputs, output filtering, and continuous audits. Build ethical, responsible AI! #AI #DataSecurity #LLMs #EthicalAI #TechTrends https://lnkd.in/g5qrRcpu

A new paper by Alan Aqrawi and Arian Abbasi, published on TechRxiv, uncovers vulnerabilities in GPT o1 (Strawberry) models to the Single-Turn Crescendo Attack (STCA-4). The research demonstrates how these models can generate disallowed content, such as hate speech, when subjected to adversarial prompts, while more robust models like Gemini 1.5 Flash and LLaMA 3 8B resisted similar attacks. This study highlights the need for stronger safeguards in large language models to counter multi-turn escalations condensed into a single prompt. #RedTeaming #ResponsibleAI https://lnkd.in/gikwnj4c

While watching the resignations and messages from the OpenAI executives, I feel that they are so close to, or have already reached the RSI-LLM, which is the model that cause the technological singularity in my paper "Large Language Models: Asseessment for Singularity". https://lnkd.in/gdDEa3u7 I hope RSI-LLM will be created in the safe, secure way.

10 years ago, a film called Her told the story of a lonely writer who falls in love with an AI voice assistant on his phone. AI was witty, empathetic, and always available, gradually becoming an indispensable part of the protagonist's life. 10 years later, at OpenAI’s Spring Release event, we witnessed the arrival of the new GPT-4o model, making Samantha a reality. This upgraded version of ChatGPT can not only chat with you naturally, just like Samantha, but it can also observe and understand your emotions through your phone’s camera 👏🏼 #OpenAI #ChatGBT #GBT4

John, you make an intriguing point about the potential benefits of smaller AI models like Microsoft's Orca 2 and Phi 2, or Meta's LLaMA family. While LLMs like ChatGPT, Gemini and Bard have garnered significant attention, there is growing interest in exploring the advantages that SLMs may offer. Some potential benefits of SLMs include: 1. Efficiency: Smaller models generally require less computational power and memory, making them more efficient to run and deploy, especially on edge devices or resource-constrained environments. 2. Accessibility: With smaller model sizes, SLMs can potentially be more accessible to a broader range of users, including those with limited hardware or bandwidth capabilities. 3. Customization: The smaller architectures of SLMs may make them more amenable to fine-tuning and customization for specific tasks or domains, potentially improving performance and accuracy in targeted areas. 4. Privacy and Security: Smaller models may offer enhanced privacy and security benefits, as they can be deployed locally without the need to send data to remote servers, reducing potential vulnerabilities and data exposure risks. However, it's important to note that SLMs may also have limitations compared to their larger counterparts, such as reduced overall performance or the inability to handle certain complex tasks as effectively. Ultimately, the choice between SLMs and LLMs will likely depend on the specific use case, performance requirements, and resource constraints. As the field of AI continues to evolve, it will be fascinating to see how the exploration of both large and small language models progresses, and how these technologies can be leveraged to enhance various applications and services. John, I appreciate you bringing this intriguing topic to the discussion, as it highlights the ongoing innovation and exploration in the field of AI, and the potential for diverse approaches to address different challenges and requirements.

Size Matters. There.. I said it. And yup, smaller just might be better when it comes to AI Models. In today’s #MusicalMonday we turn to KC and the Sunshine Band’s 70’s hit “Get Down Tonight” to highlight some of the benefits of a Small Language Model (SLM) as opposed to the more well known LLM’s (Large Language Models) that we’ve grown accustomed to hearing about recently such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Bard. New to the term SML? Take a look at what Microsoft is doing with their Orca 2 and Phi 2 models or what Meta has going on with LLaMA, their family of SML's. #SizeMattersWhenTalkingAI #SmallLanguageModelsMightJustBWhatChaNeed #WhoSaidDiscoWasDead
