Last week Startup Boston hosted its ‘The Greater Boston Accelerator Scene’ event at Suffolk University. Not only did the event highlight pretty much every #startup #accelerator in #Boston, they held a great panel on accelerators and provided guidance for the #founders in the room before they navigated the rest of the event. The panel was moderated by Guivens Andres, Founder of Amie and included panel members Aakash Shah, CEO of High Time Foods and Rachel O'Neil. Executive Coach and Founder of PeopleNova Human Capital Some of the topics that were discussed included ➡ At what stage should a founder consider an accelerator? ➡ Before applying to an accelerator, what should a founder look for? ➡ In what the instances should a startup join an accelerator that requires equity? ➡ Does an accelerator really accelerate? ➡ What are some tangible benefits coming out of an accelerator? Some of the key takeaways from the event included ⏩ Do your due diligence, what is a particular accelerator going to offer you ⏩ What is an accelerators target audience, does it fit with your company and goals. ⏩ Talk to the head of the accelerator. ⏩ Know the goal you want at the end of the program The whole event was very much a win for the participants as well as Startup Boston.
