Yes Energy Demand Forecasts’ Post

Next Friday is Matariki Day in New Zealand. In Māori culture, Matariki is  the Pleiades star cluster and a celebration of its first rising in late June or  early July. The rising marks the beginning of the new year in the Māori  lunar calendar. What does this mean for power consumption? The holiday is on a Friday,  making it a three-day weekend. As workplaces ramp down for the long  weekend, Thursday’s evening demand will be lower as it would for a  Friday. Sunday’s evening peak demand is also much higher as Kiwis  prepare for the work week. TESLA Forecasts not only account for the Matariki Day holiday but  also the surrounding days, including the Thursday before and the Monday  after.
