Is the digital product you are building only intended to be used by your co-workers or family? If not, get out there and find representative participants who iteratively perform real-life tasks on the design or prototype. We know it´s not the most convenient job to be done, but it is, nevertheless, super important. Even if you are the biggest enthusiast of your product, try to be as neutral as possible when conducting tests! Participants should understand, that they, as persons, are not tested by the interviewer, but rather act as supporters for improving the design or product with a critical opinion. Test users should think out loud and openly express any concerns that pop up. This is the best that can happen to an interviewer! So, get into a good mood, make your test user feel safe and comfortable and you can expect the most unbiased feedback! #momtest #usabilitytest #productdevelopment Benedikt Burgmaier

#T003 Today lets discuss the purpose of vision and mission statements of a company! You may be wondering, though! "What's the purpose of everything?" 🫨 I promise 🫡that it is worth your effort to create these statements . They are much more than just formalities and might be beneficial to your company. Your mission statement 🧿 serves as a concise summary of your company's essential principles that customers and staff can use to quickly grasp what your firm does and how it differs from the competition. In a way, your vision statement 👁️ acts as a road map. It serves as a motivating reminder of your goals, which are simple to overlook when you're preoccupied with day-to-day tasks. The problem is that you can't just stop at making them. In order for them to do their job, you need to actively promote and live them. ✍🏻 This goes beyond simply posting them on your website or creating a poster to display in your break room. You must act and make judgments with those statements in mind at all times in order to incorporate them as essential components of your culture.💫 It is also imperative that you teach your staff the true meaning of your purpose and vision. According to a survey, an alarming 61% of workers were unaware 📉of their company's objective. If your team doesn't know what your purpose and vision are, you can't truly expect them to support you in achieving it. Thus, convey the message to new hires from the very beginning. 🗣️ Include the goal and vision of your business in the onboarding process for new employees, and return to these statements whenever you’re launching new projects, problem-solving, brainstorming, or making big decisions. Do that, and your mission and vision statements won’t be a formality. They’ll be fundamental to the way you do business. My favorite approach to developing new products involves a combination of creativity, customer feedback, and iterative testing. Firstly, I enjoy brainstorming sessions where ideas are freely explored and innovative concepts are generated. Next, I prioritize gathering feedback from customers through surveys, interviews, and user testing to understand their needs and preferences. Based on this input, I iterate on product prototypes, refining features and functionality to better align with user expectations. This iterative process allows for continuous improvement and ensures that the final product meets the needs of our target audience effectively.

"Sorry, I'm not using it." If you’ve ever developed a product or service, you know that hearing those words can be crushing. But there’s good news. There’s a way to craft a product that will be used from day one. The secret? Start with the outcome. Here’s how: 1) Identify your target market. 2) Understand their biggest problem/need. 3) Develop a product that solves it. 4) Test that product to ensure it solves the problem directly. Often, businesses develop products that solve a problem the founders identify. But this can lead to a disconnect: what they think the problem is, versus what their customers are actually struggling with. The other critical thing? Make the product intuitive and easy to use. Friction = non-use. That means a shorter onboarding process (less paperwork, less learning) and an intuitive layout and design. Keep your target market and their problems top of mind, and you’ll be setting yourself up for success from day one.
