How good are you at unlocking the full potential of your team? I read this article this morning about the recent regeneration of the McLaren F1 Team. What struck me from the interview with Zac Brown (CEO) is how the change in 3 key leadership positions has led to a rapid step-change in performance. However, in my opinion, the real shift underlying the restructure is about leadership mindset and style. Fundamentally, the team’s change in fortunes stem from putting people first and empowering them with agency, ownership, and accountability for their actions. In Zac Brown’s own words ‘A leader’s job is to get the most out of their people and that’s what we didn’t have previously. We weren’t able to have the talent we have in here flourish’. Want to find out more about the key leadership skills needed to unlock potential? DM me to discuss how we can help you on the journey. #leadershipdevelopment #culturechange #insightsdiscovery

A few things about leadership, culture and performance - and a link to a beautiful example (though I wish it weren’t in such an environmentally damaging sector/business): 1. That “culture eats strategy for breakfast.” is well known…but led and implemented too little. 2. “Leaders model the cultural expectations though their behaviours and how they treat people and enable teamwork, not through the corporate statements about values and behaviours” - but rarely is this done v well. 3. If you’re interested in what currently looks like a great counter-example, have a read about Andrea Stella’s leadership at McLaren…

https://lnkd.in/gvJtXxCb Mary McGee is a true pioneer. As the first woman to ever finish the grueling Baja 1000 motorcycle race, she didn’t just cross the finish line—she shattered stereotypes and set a new standard for what’s possible. Her journey into motorsports began with road racing cars in the 1950s before she transitioned to motorcycles—at a time when few women even considered such pursuits. Mary didn’t wait for permission; she stretched the boundaries of her own potential and paved the way for others to follow. Her story is a reminder that being a pioneer isn’t about knowing the path; it’s about having the courage to find it. It’s about breaking ground, facing adversity head-on, and inspiring others to rise to their own challenges. In leadership, we need more Mary McGees. We need leaders who encourage that pioneering spirit in others—who see untapped potential in their teams and provide the vision and support to unleash it. Leadership isn’t about creating followers; it’s about cultivating pioneers who can redefine the future. As a Vistage Chair, I believe that helping leaders tap into their bold, trailblazing potential is one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do. The world needs more pioneers. Are you ready to lead the way? #leadership #vistage

When you cheat you are lying. Lying is the result of the absolute lack of accountability. Accountable Leaders know that cheating, lying, and dissection is never acceptable. When practice any of those three then all the people around you become weary of whether or not you are lying to them, cheating them, or deceiving them. Once you loose trust you will never gain the full and total commitment of your people. Accountable Leaders protect their good name by always doing what is right even when it’s the hard thing to do. #Accountability #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #AccountabilitySpeaker #KeynoteSpeaker #MotivationalSpeaker #HallofFameSpeaker

There are some great leadership lessons here demonstrated both by Andreas Seidl and Nico Hulkenberg: Seidl: - Giving direct feedback - being clear, direct, and straightforward (Hard Behaviour) Because Nico mattered to him (seeing him as a person), Andreas felt compelled to give him direct feedback. Hulkenberg: - Embracing challenges and living consciously Nico has learned to live consciously, to be open to life's challenges, and to embrace them. He has chosen to see it differently. In Arbinger, we like to say: With an #outwardmindset, I understand that problems are the price of progress. I embrace challenges and obstacles as opportunities for growth. #learning #mindsetmatters #lifeconsciously #leadership

As a professional advisor, I’ve learned the importance of fully understanding a situation before offering solutions. This means recognizing all the stakeholders and nuances involved. The best advice I received from my mentor was to remain infinitely curious. Taking the time to thoroughly grasp the issues at hand can transform the advice you give. For instance, the conversation in the video could have gone very differently and kept this man from giving advise to a PGA Golf Coach like Georgia Ball, and revealing his own bias. In any professional environment, it’s crucial not to assume you know more than others at the table. Instead, take the opportunity to learn about the hidden talents and insights your colleagues can offer. This approach not only enriches collaboration but also enhances the solutions we devise together. Check out this insightful story here: https://lnkd.in/e979uxtn #professionaladvice #staycurious #leadership #inspiration #genderbias

At a recent Operational Excellence event hosted by Harris Leadership, one of the group leaders for our Activity Based Costing unit made a fantastic analogy. They compared improving small hospitals' operational excellence to changing a tire on an F1 car. This analogy perfectly conceptualized the power of data to help small hospitals stay independent. Our team is here to help you better perform through a thorough analysis of your services and how to improve them from both a cost and execution perspective. Let us help you achieve operational excellence! #OperationalExcellence #DataAnalysis #HealthcareImprovement

Have you wasted your 2024? Here is the quick motivation for the week/remaining year. Whenever I need to push harder and go beyond my limits, I tell myself, "It's Hammer time!" Just like Lewis Hamilton, who uses this iconic phrase during Formula 1 races to signal it’s time to give it everything before a pit stop. It's not just about speed but about executing at your peak when it matters most. (Inspired by Hamilton's legendary teamwork with his race engineer Peter Bonnington, and their famous radio call during races) #TalentManagement #InfluencerMarketing #SponsorshipOpportunities #CareerGrowth #Leadership #HighPerformance #TakeAction #PeakPerformance #GoalSetting #PushHarder #MotivationForSuccess
