MineyeProject, a four-year project funded by a Horizon Europe Innovation Actions grant, kicked off earlier this spring! "The project consortium met for the first time in Seville, Spain to present project plans, followed by a visit to mine industry partner Tharsis Mining’s historic mine sites. Tharsis Mining is one of 13 European project partners who will together demonstrate how Earth Observation technologies can address key areas of the mining value chain and support more sustainable access to critical raw materials in Europe. Specifically, MINEYE will develop tools to support mineral exploration, selective mining practices, and responsible waste monitoring," says Dr. Sean E. Salazar, who was one of the NGI representatives. NGI is the Coordinator of the MINEYE project.
