My most successful clients, who cater to millionaire buyers, know their customers inside and out. They know them as intimately as a close friend. When we say that relationships in business are everything, we mean it. When I’m in town, I go to lunch with past and current clients. When you’re nurturing a 6-7 figure donation for a non-profit you sit knee to knee in someone’s home to share the greater mission and vision of what that donation makes possible. When you pitch a $50,000 deal you take the time to know the symptoms, diagnose the REAL problems, and provide solutions that alleviate the stress of your customer. One of the most important things I’ve learned that has helped me “excavate gold” from my network is this: The conversation is the relationship. Read that twice. Now go build your relationships.
