Yesterday, I listened to the latest episode of The Rainmaking Podcast featuring Mo Bunnell where he shared insights from his latest book, Give to Grow. In the episode, which was excellent BTW, Mo describes core concepts from his book, including: Top performers act more and are helpful more. I love this for many reasons, especially because I firmly believe that being helpful makes a lasting impact. It’s a principle that has greatly benefited me throughout my career. As far as coaching high-performing individuals on business development, Mo went on to say that, "it's always your move." 🤯 What does that mean in reality? The example he gave (paraphrased) follows: "I met Susan at a conference and sent her a note and didn't hear back. The fear says, 'I guess she doesn't want to hear from me.' Nope, open a new email and invite her to a webinar. It's always your move, always a chance to be helpful. That gets your fears out of the way and puts you in the drivers seat." 🏎️ 🏎️ 🏎️ People are busy. Just because you don't get a response on one thing doesn't mean they don't want to hear from you. They just didn't get a chance to respond. Keep building the relationship. It takes upwards of 10 touches to turn a prospect into a client. Keep being helpful and you'll get there. Thanks Mo! #businessdevelopment #relationshipbuilding

You don't have to be a CEO to read this book. If you haven't read it yet, I highly suggest checking it out. The hard copy is a must as there are so many opportunities to highlight key points. Even months after finishing it, I find myself going back to my highlights for great reminders. My key takeaways: 1. The first five seconds in any story, email, or presentation are crucial. 2. Knowing how to communicate in a way that cuts through and grabs attention is the difference between success and failure. 3. Your success will be defined by your attitude towards the small stuff - the things most people ignore or overlook. 4. The higher your failure rate, the higher your chances of success. 5. Perfect decisions only exist in hindsight. 6. The person with the fewest blind spots stands the greatest chance of victory. 7. Our time and how we allocate it is the center point of our influence. 8. What you need instead of the big win is simply forward momentum that small wins bring. The author Steven Bartlett is an unconventional leader who makes you stop and think about how you approach life and business, make decisions, and challenge the status quo. He was a recent guest on the Mel Robbins podcast and it was a great episode! Enjoy the read and the listen - both totally worthwhile. #diaryofaceo #thoughtleadership #entrepreneurialsuccess

Over the past week, I've found myself reflecting on authenticity and integrity in a variety of settings—whether it was during a personal branding presentation, a client meeting, or even while listening to a podcast. These two qualities have come up repeatedly, and I feel compelled to share a few insights: 𝗕𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: People can always sense when you're not being genuine. I once heard a great analogy about ice cream—everyone will generally accept vanilla, but it’s not what people typically go out of their way to order. Sure, most people "like" vanilla, but not everyone will love Rocky Road, Chocolate Chip, or Neapolitan. The point is, not everyone will resonate with your "flavor," but those who do, really will. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: Don't get so caught up in selling that you forget to focus on what’s truly best for your client. Asking the right questions and making sure expectations are aligned can make all the difference. A podcast I listened to even suggested incorporating a "Yellow Flag" meeting into the sales cycle, where both parties share any concerns they might have. After all, the goal is a mutually beneficial fit—you are choosing them just as much as they are choosing you. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 The Advanced Selling Podcast... #Authenticity #Integrity #PersonalBranding #SalesTips #ClientRelationships #BusinessGrowth #CustomerFirst #Leadership #SalesStrategy #BusinessMindset #SalesCycle #TrustInBusiness #BeYourself #ProfessionalDevelopment

In this episode, we have a powerhouse lineup with sales maestros Jeff C. West and Bob Burg. Jeff and Bob are here to debunk the sales myths that have been leading you astray. Their insights come from decades of experience and are backed by their groundbreaking book, "Streetwise to Saleswise." They'll also give our listeners a sneak peek into their sales philosophy by offering the first two chapters for free—a gesture you won't want to miss. We'll dive deep into the misconceptions surrounding objections in sales, why empathy is your strongest tool, and how to create emotional connections that turn prospects into loyal clients. Jeff shares an unforgettable story, proving that understanding psychology in sales is non-negotiable, while Bob emphasizes the ever-crucial "know, like, and trust" mantra. Highlights: • Sales objections are common and should be handled effectively without trying to overcome them. • Starting a conversation positively leads to a favorable response, while a negative start can lead to rejection. • Creating a positive, non-adversarial bond during the process leads to long-term client loyalty and recommendations. • Sales requires reframing rejection to understand it positively to avoid quitting due to negativity. • Trust their words, not yours; ask the right questions. • Empathy is vital for success.
