The restructuring plan includes selling, closing, or seeking partnerships for non-core assets. In Health Care, Evonik will discontinue keto acid production in Germany, impacting 260 jobs, while the Coatings division will shift its focus to liquid polybutadienes and specialty acrylics. The changes come as the European chemical sector grapples with global overcapacity, weak demand, and high costs. Update on the EU #MatDeMa Project  Today, we had a successful project meeting for the MatDeMa project, marking another milestone in our journey towards sustainable and affordable high-performance composites. MatDeMa is a key addition to the the Composite Unit and DMAC research team's excellence in this field. MatDeMa aims to develop a one-step automated manufacturing process for sustainable Thermoplastic-Fibre Metal Laminates. This process will significantly reduce manufacturing costs and maximise material utilisation without compromising performance, opening new opportunities in sectors like automotive industry .We ensure structural integrity through comprehensive design tools, testing, and characterisation methodologies, with a strong focus on sustainability and circularity from concept to demonstration. The project is coordinated by my Colleague Ahmed Makradi in partnership with Technical University of Chemnitz, Riga Technical University and FordOtosan. NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT (PART 5) I would like to extend my appreciation to DSM for the trust/ opportunity afforded in managing Technical Group 3 TC3 (Plastics Products) and becoming a member for TC1 (General Plastics), TC4 (Polyolefins) and especially the National Standard Committee (NSC 10). This is not an award obtained just by becoming an observer (silent member) or an ordinary member in a few meetings over several years. This recognition is given through nomination by ISO international meeting sparring partners and vetted by the JSM/ MITI select committee. The work involves relentless push, lead and persuasion (lobbying for nations to become parts of an important standard document development). We define winning or losing a battle at Standard Meetings by making Malaysia's voice heard; they matter, and our protests carry weight when deciding on crunch matters. Basel, Stockholm and Amsterdam Conventions are the very important baselines in the way we view the world on their resources and waste management to the near future based from Malaysia’s interest. Hence the term “trade wars” was coined I aspire to break more records in the field of science, technology and contribute to nation growth in the field that i enjoy the most. #JohnWick
