On this auspicious Poornima (full moon day), we witness the convergence of two beautiful festivals—Raksha Bandhan and Narali Poornima—celebrated with great fervor, especially along the Konkan coast. These twin festivals not only highlight our rich cultural heritage but also emphasize the importance of community and tradition. For a deeper insight into the significance of maritime festivals, I invite you to revisit this enlightening write-up from last year by Ms. Supriya Mishra of Johnson Odakkal Initiatives: https://lnkd.in/dqwJjf6N #naralipoornima #rakshabandhan #celebration #festivals #maritimefestivals #joi4u Connect with Johnson Odakkal Initiatives The Outreach Collective (TOC) The Knowledge Confluence Johnson Odakkal Initiatives Supriya Mishra Learners Conclave The Next Genius Foundation

For development: The #meaning of #life should not be #missed in #seeking meaning Hasmukh PatelThere are many festivals during the masa season. Today we want to talk about three lesser known Tehwa2. Naga Panchami, Rishi Panchami and Dharo VIII. These three festivals connect us with nature. These festivals are being forgotten today, because we are moving away from nature. The belief that we can live well even by forgetting nature is getting stronger. How true that is only time will tell. Rather, even today time is telling us but we are in no mood to listen. Nag Panchami is https://lnkd.in/eKkD7sfy #development

Wishing You all and Your Family belonging's "Happy Gudi Padwa" (Indian New Year Starts as per Indian Panchang/Calendar) Vikram Samvat 2081, also known as the Vikrami calendar is a Hindu calendar historically used in the Indian subcontinent and still used in several states. It is a solar calendar, using twelve to thirteen lunar months each solar sidereal years. The year count of the Vikram Samvat calendar is usually 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar, except during January to April, when it is ahead by 56 years. The Vikram Samvat (called Bikram Sambat in Nepal) calendar should not be confused with the Nepal Sambat, a much more recent innovation.
The cultural historian Thomas Berry once said, “The greater the diversity, the greater the perfection.” And with every passing day, we strive towards that perfection. India’s cultural and ethnic diversity comes alive during its festivals. So which one of these are you celebrating today? Tell us in the comments below. What gives you energy and keeps you going in good, bad and ugly times? This video was created by a close friend who visited our house for the Navrati Golu festival which ended yesterday with the Dushera celebrations. This festival was introduced to me by my mother and I took to it because I loved the rituals, music, songs, connection, chanting and togetherness that came with it. I was my mother’s assistant then. When I got married, I made it mine and played the lead role in setting up the festivities, inviting ladies, organising gifts and give-aways, daily rituals and pooja, making different prasad everyday and lighting the “Akhanda Deepam - 24 hours lamp”. I always feel that the Deepa that enters the festival and exits the festival isn't the same. Something within me transforms, something that I don't need in my being is burnt down and something new is sown. This ritual (which is like my annual rhythm) elevates my energy because there is prayer, gratitude, deep silence, devotion, connection with the Divine outside and within me, physical rituals, chanting and connecting with universal sounds, music, dance, togetherness, focussing on the lamp, kolam (rangoli), conscious eating and more. Do you have any such festival/ritual/tradition or routine that gives you energy? One that rejuvenates you and gets rid of the bad vibes? Let's talk in the comments section! #rejuvemation #energy #durgapuja #ritual #celebration #transformation

Though a few days have passed, the spirit of Onam lingers on! This vibrant festival, celebrated primarily in Kerala, marks the annual homecoming of King Mahabali. It symbolizes prosperity, harmony, and the rich cultural heritage of India. Key Highlights of Onam: 1. Onam Sadhya: A grand feast featuring a variety of vegetarian dishes served on a banana leaf. It’s a true representation of Kerala’s culinary richness. 2. Pookalam: Beautiful floral arrangements that adorn homes and public spaces, symbolizing welcoming and gratitude. 3. Vallam Kali: Traditional boat races that showcase teamwork and local culture, bringing communities together. 4. Cultural Programs: Dance, music, and traditional games that highlight the diverse art forms of Kerala. Onam teaches us the importance of unity, community spirit, and celebrating diversity. As we reflect on this festival, let’s carry its values into our workplaces—promoting collaboration, inclusivity, and shared success.
