Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day, a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and honor those we've lost to AIDS-related illnesses. In this video, Pamela highlights the importance of World AIDS Day and emphasizes the need for unity in supporting individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS.

" I had no idea that the company I worked for in the hospitality industry had decided to screen us for HIV during the medical examination. Twelve of us were laid off. We were told that we needed to go for further medical check-up, and the first thing that clicked in my mind was HIV,”he says. #WorldAIDSday Africa and the World in general have come along way in combating HIV and AIDS. On this 37TH commemoration of World AIDS day it is clear that stigmatization of patients and people living with the virus has reduced to almost insignificant levels. A time to remember those we have lost to AIDS-related illnesses, honor the 39 million people who are living with HIV worldwide, and reaffirm collective global commitment to ending HIV. Remaining steadfast in preventing new infections and providing resources and care to people infected with HIV. villageRISE International continues to promote and protect good health during its medical camps and health outreach programs; offering free HIV testing and counseling. UNAIDS report titled: “Take the rights path to end AIDS” shows that upholding human rights is vital for ending the AIDS pandemic. GENEVA, 26 November 2024—, report shows that the world can meet the agreed goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 – but only if leaders protect the human rights of everyone living with and at risk of HIV. Today, I stand with Pridelines and countless others across the globe in recognizing World AIDS Day—a day of reflection, remembrance, and renewed commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. As someone deeply invested in community health and empowerment, I’m proud of the transformative work Pridelines is doing to ensure access to HIV prevention, treatment, and education for all, particularly within our LGBTQ+ community. Through free and confidential testing, access to PrEP, and holistic support services, we are not just addressing a medical issue—we are breaking down barriers, eradicating stigma, and creating spaces where every individual can thrive. This year’s theme, “End Inequalities. End AIDS. End Pandemics,” serves as a powerful reminder that equity and justice are at the heart of this fight. We must continue to challenge the systemic inequities that disproportionately affect marginalized communities and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy, dignified life. On this day, I encourage you to reflect on the progress we’ve made and the work that remains. Whether you’re volunteering, donating, or simply sharing information, you are part of a global movement for change. Let’s keep fighting until we realize an HIV-free future. World AIDS Day 2024: Every year, World AIDS Day is observed on December 1. First observed in 1988, it is now marked annually to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS while also recognising and honouring the lives lost. This year’s theme is “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!” WHO implores global leaders and citizens to promote the right to health by tackling the inequalities that hinder progress in the fight to end AIDS.
